So windows 8 won't be supported starting tomorrow. I like 8, but I also would like some support, so my ? is, would you recommend using windows 10, or just keep 8 ? Keep in mind I'm no where near being all that PC savvy.

TIA..

Dude, I'm still running 7-Pro on both my machines. Neither supports 10 or 11, and only the desktop supports 8...but having tried 8, I immediately went back to 7 - hated 8.

First home computer was a Commodore-64, first IBM clone I had ran DOS 2.1

Thanks. Chrome won't be supporting 8 after today, so you think I should stick with 8 ?

I don't like Chrome either - FireFox continues to support my Win-7 and I'm running 109.0 (the latest version) without an issue.

The first thing you should check is to see if your PC will support an upgrade to the latest operating system. If not you’re looking at a new PC.

If it WILL support an upgrade BACK ALL YOUR DATA UP BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE! I can’t emphasize this enough. Once it’s backed up (to an external drive, Google drive, Microsoft OneDrive, etc.) you can start the upgrade.

The above is a condensed version of the process and I know it will be confusing to you but the main thing is to make sure your machine will support the upgrade first.

Windows 10 has come a long way since it launched. I'm on 11 now and not looking back.

I have 8 on a Surface I got back in '12 or '13 and had to get information off of it a few weeks ago. After being on 10 & 11 for work and now my home operating system, it's hard to go back to it.

I have 8.1 on my laptop which I still intend to use. I bought a reconditioned desktop from a place in Texas through Walmart with Windows 10 for only $140 plus state tax. I'm happy with it. It will be supported till October 2025.
