Ran down to *** to browse around their used stuff and pick up a few things.

Came across a mint Doomsday Tackle Co "The 47" rod that felt pretty good. It's a 7'3" MH MF and they had it marked at $45. It felt good and was in mint condition so I picked it up. Got it home and mounted a Tatula CT Type R that I use for lipless cranks

Don't know anything about them and not seeing much about them online other than a review by ***. Curious if any of you have any experience with them. I'll take a picture and post in a few minutes.

I was eyeballing them last year when they were on sale. I like trying new stuff. Never bought one, but for $45 how can you go wrong? If you wanna get matchy matchy this reel would match up as well.

That's what I figured. For that price, I don't see how I COULD go wrong. The few places I have seen them, they are priced at $140. Their website lists them for $169.

Casted a Red Eye Shad around the yard last evening and it casts it well. We'll see how it fishes when I get a chance!

Doomsday had a limited first 20 people buy 2 get 3 black Friday deal on their 47 Rods so I jumped on that. Like you said it wasn't a company I heard much about other than some positive reviews from a few websites. A guy on IG that I interact with has been using them and I just loved the way they looked. That old school cream and red sold me.

Since December they are the only rods I have been using because I love them so much lol. Particulurly the ML BFS rod. I paired mine up with the SLX BFS and have been going to town including pulling a nice 4.7lb on a 2" Keitech.

I also have the 7'3 MH MF that I use for chatterbaits. Haven't used it much because I am completely hooked on BFS right now.

$45 is a steal for what I consider d**n good rods.

Thanks NoFro... I was impressed with the looks, feel, and fit/finish.

I look forward to getting it out and trying it this spring!

FWIW I just googled them for heck of it and it appears they’re still in business. They even have an Instagram page that they posted on earlier this month.

So I wonder if they are still in business?  I did some searches on Youtube and don't see them posting anything in 4-6 years.

It seems they mainly focus on their 2 rod models now. I still have a few packs of their Reaper Craws, which were great trailers for finesse jigs. I actually got them at Cabela's 2-3 years ago. Now it seems the only place you can get them are on eBay.

They are all I use for plastics now. I love the color, reminds me of my dad's old hot rods and Harleys. I've caught a couple hundred on my 7ML shakey head rod with no problems. Have three 7MH for t rigs and might try one out for spinnerbait/chatterbait this spring. Wish I knew about the 45 dollar deal, I would've switched all my rods.

Thanks for the information. I'm considering ordering the BSF rod others have spoken of. I'm going to a swap meet at a special event one of our local shops is doing this weekend. If I'm a good boy and don't spend much there, I may order one.

Should be a fun event.... Gerald Swindell, Brent Ehler, and Scott Martin are going to be there this weekend and there is a "Swap Meet" on Friday from 3-7. Never been to a fishing swap meet! Maybe there will be some cool old stuff!

As for the Doomsday rod,... There wasn't a special deal. Just one rod in the used rods rack in the store.

The color stood out looking like a classic old rod. I picked it up and immediately realized it was a newer rod. Looked at the price and thought, "What the heck.... Let's try it"
