Super User Bird Posted January 19, 2023 Super User Posted January 19, 2023 We could have added longevity to the thread by making mention of our setups. For the 3 1/2" Keitech fats which I mostly throw, I like a Harmony 3/0 weighted 1/8 oz hook and on many occasions do so on an underspin......on spinning tackle. Quote
killobet Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I really like the 2.8 and the 3.3 sizes. I used keitech jighead 1/16 or 2/32 . Deadly!! Quote

Why do you specifically call out Harmony? Just curious Quote

I was looking for something more subtle than a loud lipless or spinnerbait that I can slow roll over grass and settled on trying some Keitechs. We’ll see how they do for me. Thanks for the suggestion y’all and keep ‘em coming! Edit: @A-Jay I opted to try those owner ultraheads, leaning towards the smaller hook size offerings and as another option, got some Tactical Bassin Finesse heads. I’ll keep my setup as close as possible to what you have. Appreciate all that info you put out there Sounds like you need to get some swimjigs 1 Quote

I already have quite a few. Would you consider them in water under or around 40 degrees? Quote
rangerjockey Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 It's really the same deal as years ago when we either swam or scrubbed a single tail grub. Then it was the Easy Shiner for a couple years, now the Fat Impact ect. Personally, I've gone back to the 3 inch Easy Shiner instead of the 8 million Fats they see a day. 3 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted January 21, 2023 Author Super User Posted January 21, 2023 I got those Keitech’s. The color I think most closely matches my forage is “Super Shad” but excited to try some of your recommendations I may be on the water tomorrow Quote
Bdnoble84 Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 I go for tennessee shad, electric blue/chart, and bluegill flash. I pour my own jigs. I actually like a worm nose head (ned head) in 1/8 oz for the smaller 2.8. Fir the 3.8 or larger i use a poisontail head with a 3/0 hook. However i tie in a wire keeper because the poisontail is absolutely horrible for keeping keitechs on Quote
