And @A-Jay, run me through your setup with the owner ultrahead ball jig setup if you wouldn't mind. I found your post about soft swimbaits and this was one of the jig heads you mentioned

I fish three general colors most of the time.

Ayu (or equivalent white/grey bottom and green/grey/blue back)

green pumpkin (sometimes the TW special green pumpkin blue black, sometimes a variation on green pumpkin)

chartreuse over white (when you need that color, only that color will do)

these are the colors I use on swim jigs and on ball heads.   I have their version of Texas craw for this spring but haven’t fished it yet. Our water is clear usually so naturals are better served here. I carry a yellow marker if I find stained water and want to color a tail.

Does your setup change for the Storm Wildeye Swim Shad?

Yes ~ but there's a caveat.

While I do use the same gear for the Megabass Dark Sleeper,

I do not fish the Storm Wildeye locally.  Just never produced here for me.

However the caveat is fishing it south of the border.

The 5" & especially the 6"  Storm Wildeye Shad

has been my weapon of mass destruction of Giant Green Bass in Mexico.

So gear is mostly heavy (some MH) sticks with 20 & 25 lb FC.

Local forage is tilapia so the bass really key in & choke this thing.

Swimbait Gone

I would add some video too but it's a little obscene.

No, have a bunch of them and the Tzunami ones from the salt, mostly bunker, pearl, and pearl chart. Everything eats them, but they require a little more input than the LMB specific paddle tails.

What kinda input? Are you adding a little pizzazz? A little griddy? Cubic shuffle perhaps?

I don't fish the FAT impacts but for the regular 4" impact I've had good luck on sexy shad in clear water. I think any natural color would be pretty good. If the water is heavily stained to muddy I'm throwing a spinnerbait instead.

Pro Staff

Grey over pearl white

White with black flake and blue iridescent

Currently using a mix of different brands so the only Keitech color I remember is Pro Staff which is just watermelon over translucent orange.

If I had to choose one I'd probably go with Sun Gill. It's crazy how many different color options they offer.

A very close second would be the TW exclusive black and blue green pumpkin. Just a great color.

My top color for Keitech Swing Impact (non-fat for me) is Electric Shad, followed by Electric Shad. And, if I feel like experimenting, I will sometimes see if they might prefer Electric Shad.

I have tried other colors and they are OK.

Bluegill Flash

Pro Staff Special

Shad

Pro Blue Red Pearl

I’ve only used Smallmouth Magic so far and it worked well for me. I’ll be adding the Perch color this year too.

I ordered quite a few of the Keitechs and various sizes of the Storm Wildeye Shad in Pearl.

I was looking for something more subtle than a loud lipless or spinnerbait that I can slow roll over grass and settled on trying some Keitechs. We’ll see how they do for me. Thanks for the suggestion y’all and keep ‘em coming!

Edit: @A-Jay I opted to try those owner ultraheads, leaning towards the smaller hook size offerings. I’ll keep my setup as close as possible to what you have. Appreciate all that info you put out there
