Super User Darth-Baiter Posted January 15, 2023 Super User Posted January 15, 2023 Hypothetically. Say a guy posts up a pic of his favorite wrist watch. And next to the fancy time piece, you see a large raised, blue/black mole. You saying anything? sorry I might be suffering from cabin fever. I had a total stranger tell me my constant small cough might be cancer. I had my doc scan my lungs. She determined it was asthma. Oddly, that’s how the doc found my stepdad’s lung cancer. Same nagging cough. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted January 15, 2023 Global Moderator Posted January 15, 2023 A mole as you described can be anything. However, if I see an open wound or someone unsteady, or something as obvious as someone coughs or sneezes without covering their mouth and splatters blood, I’ll definitely mention it. Then go to the doctor myself! Mike 1 Quote
Happybeerbuzz Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Something like that yes. If I see them smoking a cigarette or being obese, no. It just depends on if it is something they might not reasonably know and might want to know. Quote
throttleplate Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 not unless i know them awhile. Some folks might allready know and will get defensive. Years ago at a bar i sat next to guy and we got to chattin and his hands were full of hundreds of warts. I didnt say a thing about gettin them froze or burned off. I was just glad i didnt shake his hand. 1 Quote
Skunkmaster-k Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Yes. I would say something if I thought someone’s life depended on it. Quote

This is how I would approach it too. Unless I know them, I am keeping my mouth shut. People are really uptight about their health. I am not a health professional, nor would I pretend to be either. 1 Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted January 15, 2023 Super User Posted January 15, 2023 No, cause I'm not a doctor, now if someone is fishing with fluoro and a loop knot, I'm starting CPR... 4 1 Quote

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted January 16, 2023 Global Moderator Posted January 16, 2023 Seems like I heard a story of a news anchor that someone tweeted in about a lump on her neck that turned out to be a tumor 1 Quote

I think the difference in this case is that the individual who noticed and said something was a med student. Quote

I think euthanasia is the only course of action in that situation. Put 'em out of their misery and get 'em out of the gene pool! ? (I live in northern NY near a popular vacation lake. It is practically a normal occurrence to see vacationers fishing in the lake with giant saltwater spinning outfits, held upside-down. I'm used to it. Doesn't even make me twitch.) Quote

Absolutely, I don't think I would ever say something to someone, especially a stranger, as I am definitely not qualified to diagnose medical conditions lol 1 Quote
