throttleplate Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 I have a chance to buy these lures including the containers and bag. What should i offer? I am thinkin $50.00 which i think is on the very low side. Quote
camman Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 It’s hard to answer that as I can’t really see the brands of the hardbaits. I think I can see maybe 2 Bagleys and the others I can’t tell. Depending on that, $50 may be too high of an offer 5 Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted January 15, 2023 Super User Posted January 15, 2023 Used merchandise is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I wouldn't pay $50 for that lot, but someone may be willing to pay more. 1 Quote
GRiver Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 That over $2.00 a lure for the hard baits, then add spinner baits, and bobbers, plus you get the Plano boxes and the bag. If you had to purchase new, all of theses baits and boxes and bag, it’s not a bad price. 2 Quote
Captain Phil Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 $30 if you will use these baits. Pass if you won't. 2 Quote
padlin Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 I don’t see anything there that I use so to me it’s worth zip. If they look like something you want to try then offer the $50. 1 Quote
Fishin Dad Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 If I would use all the stuff, I wouldn’t pay over $40. I would offer $30 1 Quote
Mbirdsley Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 I’d feel good about it at $50. I don’t know if I’d go higher than that though. If they don’t bite at $50 I’d walk and not think twice about it again. With the exception of the Erie derie and the bagleys it looks like a small stream/river box 1 Quote
PressuredFishing Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 20$ because I don't like the colors and won't use some 1 Quote

The bag is worth $10-15 and the bins are a couple bucks a piece, then a good number of hard baits, which typically go for $2-$3 at the local bait shop by us for used. I see a few Rapala, what looks like a Wally Diver, various other cranks, a couple lipless, a Jawbreaker and a few Mepps Fury and Rooster spinnerbauts. Seems like a mixed bag of smallie, walleye, and northern lures. I'd say $40 - $50, but only if you will use most of those items. 2 Quote
Super User islandbass Posted January 15, 2023 Super User Posted January 15, 2023 No more than $20. If $50 is his selling price, he probably knows he’ll be lucky to get that and is probably expecting $25-$30. To your 20, he might say $25. Decline and walk away and he just might acquiesce to you $20. Learned from my mom who was a master haggler. It’s odd how for the most part in the US (there are exceptions of course) we don’t haggle much. Most of the rest of the world does. Garage sales and places like offer up and the like are the exceptions and it’s so much fun. 1 Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted January 16, 2023 Super User Posted January 16, 2023 That looks like a selection of baits that I would cull out of my tackle and give to someone... 6 1 Quote

I took members advice as i didnt need the bag and only interested in 4 of the lures. But i did buy this batch of 6 lures, some hooks, 2 packs of plastics and the fishing line which is the 832 30# is what i have on 3 of my reels now and 2 spools of 10# yo-zuri which i may never use. I havnt handled these lures or seen them out of the bag, only pics as seen here. I paid $12.00 for this batch and will pick them up tuesday in town here. I bought them from an online local estate sale. I will post a closeup of these lures soon as i get them as i am wondering if they suspend, sink, have a moving tail or are they just a solid glide bait? 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted January 16, 2023 Super User Posted January 16, 2023 You did well for $12 ? 1 1 Quote
throttleplate Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 Here is the lot i paid $12.00 for. The lures sink and they are hinged, probably made by a small garage guy as the name on the lure doesnt come up on a search. The other items i can use but i never fished a lizzard before. The lures will be used in the rivers below the dam, if they crash and burn no big deal. 1 Quote
