Benjamin J Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 I recently got a Sixth Sense Lux spinning rod and noticed a spot on the rod. I was wondering if the spot would lead to problems down the road. There is no damage to the outside of the rod, so I figured it was made like that. Do you guys have any thoughts on this? Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted January 14, 2023 Super User Posted January 14, 2023 Looks like it was crushed somehow. The line that cuts through the tape spirals heading to the right of the main mark is what concerns me. Quote
Johnbt Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Send them the pic and see what they say. And then return it. 1 Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted January 14, 2023 Super User Posted January 14, 2023 Yeah it might be fine and that's just cosmetic, or it might be a weak spot and cause a catastrophic failure, return it. 1 1 Quote

Benjamin J Posted January 14, 2023 Author Posted January 14, 2023 Update: Thanks guys I’m returning it just in case. 1 Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted January 14, 2023 Super User Posted January 14, 2023 Who cares if it's cosmetic ? It's not right . Quote
ironbjorn Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 If it doesn't come to me brand new in reasonably perfect condition, it gets returned until they get it right. Nobody would purposefully buy that rod, so don't feel bad at all. 1 Quote
