Super User Swamp Girl Posted January 14, 2023 Super User Posted January 14, 2023 So, I got this scary message: "You have used 20.01 MB of your 1.17 MB attachment limit." And I searched "how to delete photos" and found an old A-Jay post where he said you go to My Attachments and then select the photo and then delete it, but I'm unable to select the photo. I click in various places and either makes the photo enlarge or it downloads it. A little help? 1 Quote
ironbjorn Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Use postimages.org to never deal with this again Quote
Johnbt Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 No thanks. ScottW Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 @ol'crickety Katie, go to your profile > My Attachments. When the page loads (it’ll load the most recent first) tick the box on the far right to select the images you want to delete. A small confirmation box with a trash can icon will appear below. ? Quote

Thanks for replying, Scott. I know the sort of box you're thinking I should click, but there are no boxes when I load My Attachments for any of my images. Quote
Johnbt Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Sure, but what happens when they decide that you cannot use it ever again because you signed over your rights? Wait until they doctor a pic of your kid holding a fish and sell it to advertisers and such or put it on t-shirts for sale depicting your kid as the new fish killing maniac and butt of all vegan jokes. Don't give up your possessions so easily. 1 1 Quote

Any chance you could side scroll to the right to see them? Quote
Super User Swamp Girl Posted January 14, 2023 Author Super User Posted January 14, 2023 Scott, I tried randomly clicking to the right of the threads' names, thinking they might be invisible on my screen. Nada. And I tried downsizing and upsizing the entire screen. Nada again. I feel badly I'm using way more of Glenn's storage than I should and that I can't do anything to fix it. Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted January 14, 2023 Super User Posted January 14, 2023 Wish I could help, but Scott suggested the same thing I was going to do. Your participation and number on the forum rolls is far more valuable than the cost of 146.48mbs provided to you. I've been on tech forums for over 15 years, this is the only one I've been a member of that limits the amount of pics you can upload. I'm constantly deleting pics in my attachments, feels like everything you've posted in the past is for nothing since I post lots of pics with my replies. That said, this is great forum, I'm happy they haven't banned me thus far, and love the people on here. 1 Quote

throttleplate Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 how do you delete pics that are individually stored in the INSERT PICTURE FROM EXISTING ATTACHMENT section? That is an area i would like to clean out. Quote

Don't give up your possessions so easily. I’m no lawyer but granting them a non exclusive license means that you maintain your rights including the right to license the image to others. It just prevents you from being able to hold them accountable for how the image gets used. Their lawyers worded it to cover them in every imaginable circumstance. If it’s a picture of a world record or a picture of bigfoot then I would think twice about posting it to their site but other than that I don’t think they’re not gonna make a lot of money selling photos I made with my phone. Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted January 14, 2023 Global Moderator Posted January 14, 2023 I ran into this problem years ago, and I have used post image.com for years. If they are stealing my property, I haven’t noticed. I still have access to every picture I’ve ever posted. The alternative is to post them to the gallery, and then you can upload existing image in any post. @N Florida Miketaught me that trick and it works well 1 Quote

Woody B Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Something is wrong with your account. Here's a screenshot of my attachment page. My limit is 146.48mb. Quote

Fantastic, thanks Glenn! You need that much storage since you're posting fish photos and videos 12 months a year! Now that I'm able, I just deleted 10 Mb of photos. That's me being optimistic for 2023. 1 1 Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 15, 2023 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 15, 2023 Ya, I bumped it up a little. But understand I used to have it at a much higher level....and people STILL complained about not having enough. Sorry guys, but this isn't an image hosting site. That's way above my pay grade. I pay for this site out of my own pocket. The sponsors help offset some of the costs, but I still have to shell out $$ of my own. I'm a broke fisherman just like you! LOL 2 2 1 Quote
