Hey all looking to get a rod to toss 1/2oz Keitech footballs around. I'm looking at this rod and just wondering if anyone out there has this rod and could offer some insights. Right now II run a Levante Brailist and it's just a little much for the light wire hooks.

I have this model.  I use it for that purpose.  I also throw 1/2 Dark Sleepers, under spins, heavy shakey heads and pitch Senkos with it.  I used this rod as a back seater a lot and threw Cloud 9 15’s with it.  Dobyns also has a Kaden 743 and the actions are very similar. Just a thought.

To me the 743 is a little light for 1/2oz jigs. I mostly use it for light t-rigs, weightless senkos and some small 1/4oz finesse jigs. I would personally step up to the 744 for 1/2oz jigs.

I am with Jrob78 on this. I have a couple of there rods & use them for 3/16 & 1/4 oz. Texas rigs, light spinnerbaits, & weightless plastics. As Jrob78 said the 744 is a better choice for a 1/2 oz. bait.

Another vote for the 744. I have it in the Kaden flavor. It'll work well for those 1/2oz footballs, but also swim jigs, spinnerbaits, Trigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits... It's a very versatile blank.

I think op is talking about those tiny hook keitech jigs. That might change the equation, because that hook should easily be set by a 743, though it might be the limit.
