Hey y’all,

Who here likes to wear cologne and what do you like? When I consider some of the demographic of bassresource, we have a lot of married folks older than I, and a good amount retired folks. Myself, I am single and young. So I don’t know how much response this thread will get but I had to ask.

One of my roommates here is pretty heavily interested into fragrances so after several months of me not really caring about fragrances, eventually a group of us were wandering around in Nashville and my roommate wanted to get me into cologne so asked me to try one from a Sephora. Well I got a sampler pack and found that I really liked wearing them so I just started to. Just like to smell nice. Im very clean and always have been but cologne kinda adds a little sumthin sumthin.

Anyways, I own several now and my favorite is probably Prada Luna Rossa Ocean.

What about you?

I don’t wear Cologne but this immediately came to mind.

I’m usually getting sprayed by a skunk so no need for me to spend any extra

I like bay rum aftershave, or anything you'd find in a 1958 barbershop.

I react to this thread the same way I reacted to 'music in the boat' thread; you do what you want, but if I can hear your music...or smell you from more than a handshake away...I'm unhappy.

Not what your asking....but whenever I smell someone with 'strong' perfume, usually women....I start wondering how bad they must really smell to need to mask their natural stink

I respect and acknowledge that. I work to not overspray. Someone suddenly discovering scent is better than loudly announcing it. But, at the end of the day, cologne is meant to be smelled, even if only discovered. Some like smelling me, some probably not. And I’m okay with that.

I rarely wear cologne (I work from home and I’m married), but when I do, it’s Jordan 23.

Yes, I know it’s probably the cologne equivalent of Axe body spray, but it’s my wife’s favorite, and that’s the only opinion that matters to me.

i practice "less is more".

TRUE STORY.  i was shopping with the wife.  walked into a store and this mega hot sales lady just started chatting me up.  she showed me a cologne.  L'Occitane.  she said, "this is what Brad Pitt wears.".  she spritzed me with the tiniest amount and my wife walks up and says, "that smells good.  what is it?".  i said, "it's what brad pitt wears.".  we laugh. and i bought the stuff.  it is all i do now.  just the tiniest amount.  LESS is more.

but most times, i go with whatever smell the soap leaves me with.  that lady could have sold me a ketchup sandwich even if i was wearing a white suit.  :D

I actually have a modest collection of colognes, more than I'll ever need. I like to wear it, not sure why, it's just something I kind of got into after a cologne I got as a gift ran out. I was like huh, I need one and ended up buying a few over several months. I like Dior Fahrenheit and Dolce Gabbana light blue. And like others have said LESS IS MORE when it comes to the number of sprays.

Coincidentally Dolce Gabbana Light Blue is one of the several I own too! Mine is the intense version. Like it a lot; I will break it out in the summer

What else do you have? Just curious. I am pretty much settled, don’t think I will buy anything new but nice to hear what somebody else has
