I use the Zorro Aggravator....it is weedless and works amazing in cover.

I hate that they increased the price on those. Buyers are definitely overpaying

Unless equipped with a weed-guard they are not a snag resistant as a long armed bait . They drop nicely and can be gurgled across the surface with a Colorado blade . I never tried to gurgle one with a willow blade .

Yeah! How come spinnerbaits are becoming more expensive and nothing else is?...

Apparently you don't grocery shop!

@JustBassinThru That's a buzzbait with a willowleaf blade attached. Ain't gonna get much vibration out of that.

That spinnerbait should have Esox somewhere in it's name...

Some dope left a review ripping on the Zorro bait, saying it had a 'strange and unneccesary' weedguard.  Lol ?.  You can only hope guys like that enter the same tournaments as you do

The ones I have made, but not really fished that much move like a chatterbait with a lot of roll. I can attest to the fact that they snag up easily as I caught a tree that I would regularly pull a standard spinnerbait over. I hope to use them more next year, but they won't be great in reed beds unfortunately for me.

Yeh, it seems pretty silly to criticize that weed guard when its so easy to cut it off as I do...

I havent used a short arm in quite a few years . At one time though I dabbled with them quite a bit .      The Zorro bait with the weed Guard was my favorite . I fished it around cover with a pork frog trailer and let it helicopter down through the branches of trees . Mark Twain was a new lake at the time with thousands of acres  of standing wood . This was one of my favorite spring-time patterns in coves .

Short arm spinnerbaits work well when helicoptering down a steep bank.  Back when I was fishing Everglades canals, we would throw the bait next to the canal bank and let it drop down the side cover.  You had to pay attention as the fish would inhale the bait as it fell. We caught some big fish that way.

Spinnerbaits are deceptive in cost. Reason is the blades. I was blown away how quick my cart went over 200$ when i first got into making my own.

N/A, I bought a bunch from a guy who got them when they went out of business, and now I have a source for the Terminator ones too.
