Bought an older bass boat. Can't find info on the trolling motor. It's a evinrude mod. BFL4S. Serial nu. H02896976. It's on a 1985 charger boat. Any ideas on the trolling motor would be helpful. Thanks

If you need parts - these guys have quite a few of them

That's well below JD Powers base price for that boat/motor combo.

Did you go through everything before taking it off his hands?

Motor Starts, runs good at all throttle levels, shifts gears?

No leaks in the hull, compartments are water-tight?

Clean title?

Lakes were freezing up when I got it. Seems to start up and run ok. Tried to post a picture of it but won't let me.

Like @MN Fisher said if that motor runs and the boat is sound you got yourself a good deal. Congrats and good luck on your new  boat

Don’t waste money on the Evinrude TM.

Not sure if that model year bass boat has a glassed over wood transom and stringers? Check for dry rot!

Congrats on the new to you boat! As long as everything is solid, you got yourself a deal. I'd be saving up for a new TM though as technology has advanced a lot over the years and they've got a lot more power now. It'll help a lot if you fish in any wind, grass, or especially if there's a combination of the two.
