Please help me pick a reel to replace my Lews Tournament MB - Lews vs Shimano

I just ordered a Metanium Shallow spool right after Christmas and didn't know about the Japanese holiday. So it's been a long wait till they get back to work on the 10th. So just letting you know before you order.

I've owned most Shimano, lews and a lot of daiwas. I'm honestly to the point i believe nine of then are going to last like the reels of a few years ago did. Obviously everyone is going to defend their preferred brands. They all make good and bad. A metanium is a much nicer reel...to me...than a tournament pro. It should be it's double the price. At the 200 price point the curado mgl is fantastic, as is the daiwa tatula 100. The older lews tournament pro reels were amazing, the newest version hasn't impressed me personally.  Lots of guys love them tho. I'd suggest choosing what feels the best for whatever you're willing to spend, not what all of us think about it. It's pretty sweet that we have such a selection of nice gear these days.

Wouldn't that be Rather corporation? That's the way it's listed everywhere.

I got the confirmation email this morning from digitaka that shallow spool edition shipped. So if OP ends up ordering one they're off their holiday now.

The Met 20 is a great little reel, but I dont think I would buy one just to be a SW specific reel.  It feels plenty solid, I'm just not sure how well it would hold up.  I dont mind the little JDM handle and knobs as much FW fishing, but SW is a different story.   Even though the 150 is relatively new, the Tranx platform is solid.

It arrived!  Only took 2 days when it finally shipped.  Don't mean to hijack OPs post, just wanted to tell someone haha.

I feel your pain buddy. My wife ordered me a metanium 20 for Christmas on the 16th from Digitaka and I also didn’t know about them taking a long hiatus and didn’t receive mine until 1-9
