Yumeya has come out with a new brake knob for those that want a finer tuning. Pictures to follow.

Fancy spool tension knob - not a brake knob. The brakes are on the other side.

Yes I have seen those but I really never touch that, I use factory setting(which is recommended by factory). But they are cool part for who want to mess with it :)

I guess the boys from Yumeya and Avail need to consult with you before they release their products. https://www.hedgehog-studio.co.jp/product/5513https://www.hedgehog-studio.co.jp/product/4612

Just mis-translated...both are Japanese sites with A.I. translation - probably Google. The knob on the handle side only adjusts the spool tension - the dial on the right adjusts the brakes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these new DC version have pre-adjusted tension?

That is correct they started that with second generation 2016 Antares DC (2016-2020) and there was no brake/ tension knob at all . However on the 2021 model the knob came back and that is what this one replaces.

On the 2016 Antares DC there was no tension/brake knob only the screw that is shown here. That did two things it allowed to gain access to the bearing and you could play with tension / brake on the spool. What you were supposed to do was screw that back in and then back it out 1-1/2 turns to the factory preset. Now if you played with that you would see a difference in its performance.

I understand. That was one of my biggest criticism of the DC system. If they claim it is an intelligent system, why it is dumber than the cheap linear mag system, needing to be fine-tuned like a centrifugal one?
