Super User gim Posted March 26, 2023 Super User Posted March 26, 2023 I've got 4 guys in the top 9 after day 2. I could actually win a prize if they do well tomorrow. Minnesota native Austin Felix made a massive leap from day 1 to day 2. 2 Quote

You were in good shape after day two . I made it over 50 percent . Good thing a lot of people dont participate every event or I would never see 50 percent. Lake Murray picks are in . I'm going with the Drew's, a New , Scott and a Brandon . Brandons know how to fish . Quote
Super User scaleface Posted March 29, 2023 Super User Posted March 29, 2023 Thoughts on strategy . If there is someone highly picked like Bryan New inside of bucket E at almost 70%, do you think its smart to shy away from that pick for someone else in hopes of finishing ahead of the 70% or go ahead and pick him and if he stinks, then it doesnt hurt that bad because he stunk for 70% . I will admit I don't really have much of a strategy when it comes to picking anglers. I do tend to shy away from selecting an angler that people have picked more though. I'm more of a "long shot" kind of gambler. I think some people select anglers they know of or have heard of, and some select anglers based on the location of the specific tournament relative to where that angler is from. 1 Quote

I say it depends on your goal and position so far in fantasy fishing. Maybe I’m thinking way too hard about this but here’s my logic. If you’re trying to finish high in the overall, therefore maintain an already high percentile, I’d probably pick Bryan New if he was that highly owned. You don’t want 70% of the players to gain on you if he ends up having a good tournament. On the other side, if you’re already doing pretty poorly in fantasy fishing overall then why not take a risk on someone with a lower ownership. By picking Bryan new, you’d only potentially gain on 30% of players for that bucket. And stay level with the other 70% I also look at who else I picked for my team. If I already have a lot of highly owned anglers then I wouldn’t mind one long-shot pick. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted March 30, 2023 Author Super User Posted March 30, 2023 Sorry I haven't been around much. I've been in and out of the hospital with a surgery recently. This year has not been my year for Fantasy. Seems like I always have one guy who greatly underperforms, or someone who starts the event great on day one and then just slides down the rankings each day. Anyway, congrats to Gussy on getting the win. Glad to see a Canadian get one. We've got a 20 day break until the next event, so we've all got plenty of time to do lots of research. 1 Quote

lmoore Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Cobb, Huff, Johnston, Atkins, New for Murray. Might swap out B and D for Walters and Palaniuk, haven't totally made up my mind there. Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted April 20, 2023 Super User Posted April 20, 2023 I think this is the best 1st day I've had - 3 in the top 10, 1 more in the top 25 - and one straggler down in the 70s. Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted April 21, 2023 Super User Posted April 21, 2023 Still hanging in there - 2 in the top 10, 2 more 'knocking' on the door...and my straggler ended up in the high 80s Ah well. Quote
