Hey y’all,

Wondering how much you talk about fishing in your daily life, especially at work/school/whatever. I used to talk more about it, but came to realize that most people just really don’t care. I hardly mention it anymore, but it often gets brought up to me, because inevitably someone sees my stickered up truck or heard from somebody that I fish a lot. I prefer it that way. Much better to be approached about it rather than just bringing it up, at least to me.

What about y’all?

The people close to me like family, girlfriend, friends, they probably think I never shut up about fishing. My girlfriend especially because she has to share a house with me and she works from home. But for people I don’t know well, I generally don’t bring it up unless asked, because I’ve found most people can’t even get past the fact that I catch and release.

Mine is pretty much a combination of the two previous posts by @LrgmouthShad and @Jar11591.  My wife doesn't even really ask me how the fishing was anymore, and other than one or two avid anglers at work, no one cares there either.

My wife's Grandfather, who I see about 4 times a year, always asks me how fishing and hunting has been lately.  I could talk to that guy for hours.

I dont unless someone starts the conversation . It bores people  to death . I get asked about metal detecting more than fishing .

I talk about it a little with my wife, until she gets that glazed over look in her eyes.  No one at work fishes, so it doesn't get brought up there.

I don't allow those kind of negative people in my life!

Interestingly enough she does take some interest in my hunting success and failures. Lately I’ve been pheasant hunting and I think she’s more worried about the dog than me. Ha

I'm always talking about fishing, but am not really sure what I do in my daily life.

Since my Dad died….. not too much. I have a few friends I see from time to time. And fishing is what we have in common, and that’s all we talk about.

I used to talk about it a lot when I was still working full time. A couple of the guys I worked with fished also. Now I don't talk about fishing very much. But, I make up for it by thinking about fishing much of the time.

I have buddies I talk to almost daily about fishing related things like weather, water temps and reports. My girlfriend still asks me about it everytime I go. At work I have a guy on my crew that loves to fish so he asks me often.

My wife thinks it’s all the time. Probably to her I do talk about it most the time. At work I really don’t talk about it much unless someone brings it up. My dad and I do talk about it but he’s my main fishing partner.

I would estimate once a week for five to ten minutes.  Maybe more in warmer months and less in the wi.  I only have two people around me that are truly  interested.  One can’t fish anymore because of injury, and the other was an avid angler but is no longer.  In many ways, fishing has evolved into a private passion even though I fish with others occasionally.

Well, I have a buddy who never shuts up about his prostate so..... I'm guessing you talk about both quite a bit? ?

I have a "friend" who had his prostrate removed about 15 years ago. I still hear about his surgery and the aftermath. It does get old. ?

I have my sons and a group of friends I fish with and we talk "fishing". Other friends have no interest and the subject never comes up.
