I wear and love both.  I have no hair, so you hair guys getting your flowing locks all mussed up with a hoodie pullover...WAH!!! (you can suck it :D)

my favorite was a surprise.  I bought a hoodie at my local brewery. Russian River.  it is embarrassingly LOGO'd up.  but the hoodie is thin and light.  the arms sleeves are narrower.  they allows me to wear a puffy vest over it.  this is darn near the counties uniform.  we all do it.

I'm not a fan of bulky coats and live in TX where it doesn't usually get very cold, so it's hoodies for me all winter long. I also have no hair, so a hood is mandatory. I have and wear zip ups and pullovers. I have different weights for different temps and different layering options.

If I'm wearing it like a jacket and plan to take it off, I prefer zip up. If I plan to keep it on all day like a shirt, I like pullovers.

This.

Although I live in upstate NY and it gets bitterly cold, I follow this same rule: If it's coming off at some point, zip up. If I'm keeping it on, pullover.

And the bigger the better. I'm 6'0", 180lbs, so fairly average size, but all of my hoodies are 2XL and above.

Pull over Carhartt hoodies. Not much for zipper type. Not much for sweatshirts without a hood on them really. Have quite a few colors of them. I think the young folks are the ones that have Carhartt as a company in good shape these days. The young folks I guess are the ones that help make all the color option a good thing these days. Not all that long ago colors were very limited.

My favorite are the Carhartt Rain Defenders pullover hoodies. Made a bit heavier duty compared to the mid-weights. Only a few bucks $$ more, but worth it in my opinion.

Hot dog! I didn’t think so many of us here use them. I never cared for hoodies until my wife started buying them for me just a few years ago pre covid.

Now, I really like them. I mostly have pullovers because that is what is more common here but I do like how the zippered ones help you regulate the heat.

I also have a couple “grades”. I like thinner ones like my bps one for 45-60 and thicker ones for below that. For 61 and up? Shoot. Hoodies are too warm for that… T-shirt time, lol. (JJ)

I have both, but prefer pullovers.  I don't know how many I have, but enough to know I don't need more.

When I'm fishing in cold or inclement weather, it's the Aftco Reaper hoodie all the way - by itself or under my insulated Simms Challenger parka and bibs.  I'm toasty-warm and comfortable all day.

You and me both! I’ve never bought one but I can’t hardly find a place to hang them all. We purged a few big bags of clothes to goodwill recently, probably need to do it two more times

For that early morning run I go with my old faithful, sun bleached zippered Carhartt sweatshirt to reduce the chill.

Hooded, pretty much always have one on once temps get in the low 40s.  Picked up small ties at Walmart, wrap them 4x, my pony tail stays put.  My glasses on the other hand, sucks when I forget to take them off first.

Have a Carhartt heavy, Carhartt rain deal, and a few older Columbias.  Wife is tired of seeing the same few in daily rotation and wants me to get some new ones.  Been searching, trying to find some with minimal to no branding. Little logo on left chest is OK, across whole front/back/entire sleeve, nope. Can get new versions of the same Columbias I have, Simms had one or two I liked the looks of, and LL Bean seems to have a contender too.

UA pullover, medium fits better but I like the extra room in large. UA is my go to for most anything winter related anymore.

I have around eight hoodies, all pull overs. Funny thing is, I don't believe that I've ever used the hoods.

Two of them are really thick for colder weather. The rest are thinner for cool mornings and weather.

working in construction, i have a zillion hoodies and sweatshirts, the companies i work for give them out all the time.  i really should get rid of some. i like zip up ones if i'm working in a heated place because i can leave it inside of my jacket when i take it off. but if i'm on a cold place i like pull overs.

Zip-up - pullovers pull my ponytail band out too often.

i get around that by stuffing the pony tail up into my do-rag.  i got into the habit because when i ride,  the knots are obnoxious when i don't.  the only drawback i ain't figured out yet, is how to avoid that tan line that goes across my forehead. sunscreen doesn't work

dumb and dumber GIF

I like the pullovers. It drives my wife crazy because I always wear them instead of coats when it's really cold out.

I have a B.U.M Equipment hoodie from the early 90's

Inside the pocket was another pocket with a velcro tab

Perfect for a wallet or 2 pagers if you were a baller ... lol

Great for  making sure nothing fell out

My phone fits perfectly in there now

The problem is after 30 years its about as thick as a t-shirt

Simms Rogue Hoodie. Zip-up. Waterproof for a while too, and very windproof. Inexpensive on sale, and they seem to always go on sale.

For those who like their Carhartt sweatshirts of any style I suggest you try to find the brand Work N Sport.  It's a Carhartt knock-off and I buy them at Farm and Fleet.  I work outdoors and Carhartt is my daily wear.  I've found that the sweatshirts from Work N Sport are not only less than 2/3rds the price, but they are much sturdier, fit better, and wear better than Carhartt sweatshirts.  For pants and coats Carhartt is still my go-to, but all of my sweatshirts (and insulated work bibs) are transitioning to Work N Sport.

The web site says it’s exclusive to Farm & Fleet. If I ever make it to a Packers game I’ll stop in.
