Super User gim Posted December 29, 2022 Super User Posted December 29, 2022 I take both my vehicles in for routine service when the electronic oil tracker indicates that they're nearing 10% oil life remaining. I don't know what kind of oil they use. Whatever they are using these days in Ford vehicles lol 1 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted December 29, 2022 Author Super User Posted December 29, 2022 My expression “what’s good?” is simply asking “what’s up?”. I just want to know how the bassresource community is doing today 1 Quote

Bear in mind he was only 5'5". 1 Quote

Dogs are playing the yard, the snow's melting so they are soaked and I hammered out work out #180 for this year. Have fun at Speedy Lube . . . . . A-Jay 1 Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted December 29, 2022 Super User Posted December 29, 2022 I'm doing good today. I would avoid cheap off brand oils. Stick with a good name brand, and it will be fine. Enjoy your oil change. 1 Quote

Fishlegs Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 A bit of a downer for me. I was going to go fishing at lunch, but it's been raining...so it's all work & no play for me today. 1 Quote

Super User Jig Man Posted December 29, 2022 Super User Posted December 29, 2022 Well I’m doing great. Nitro took my boat into the factory and a bunch of glass work which they covered under warranty. It came back during the cold spell. It is warming and the wind is supposed to drop so I have everything ready for a trip to the lake tomorrow. I haven’t been in the boat since early October. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted December 29, 2022 Super User Posted December 29, 2022 Doing good, just sitting at home watching YouTube videos. I'll be taking my car in for an oil change mid to late January. 1 Quote
volzfan59 Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 I'm doing great today, thanks for asking. Raining with a little thunder and lightning here in southern Arkansas. I'm reading a book on cabin building and checking BR. 1 Quote

Fished off a jetty and had some nibbles. Caught 5 tiny bass in my cousins backyard pond. Meanwhile back at home my buddies are slaying big SMB……….. 1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted December 29, 2022 Super User Posted December 29, 2022 Bored. No snow in the forecast so I don't have much work to do. Went down to the basement just to stare at my fishing equipment at least 4 times today. 1 2 Quote
throttleplate Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 i change my own, dont trust any kids or newbies whom work the lube racks at dealers to not cross thread the drain plug, leave the old filter gasket on or tightening the filter. The last time 5 years ago i had the honda dealer change my oil and they charged me for 5 qts when the engine takes 3.75qts. They made up for it by giving me a ticket for a free oil change which i gave to my neighbor. Beware what oil they put in, I asked the service manager and the parts manager what brand oil and they said mobil, i asked which mobil type as there are different quality oils they sell in bulk. They didnt know so i asked whom was their distributer and they gave me the name and i called them and they looked it up and i found out which mobil series it was and it was the cheapest mobil makes in bulk. So if you have an older car they will not unless requested put good expensive oil in it, you will get the low grade. 1 Quote
Woody B Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 I was working when this thread started. I'm an auto tech. I was probably changing someone's oil. (actually I was putting lifter in a 2019 Tahoe) I'm chilling tonight. Mrs B and myself went out for our Friday night Pizza. I'll jump in the shower soon and off to bed. Tomorrow is my Dad's 88th birthday. I'll be spending the day with him. I get to go fishing Sunday for the first time in 2 weeks. 4 Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted December 31, 2022 Super User Posted December 31, 2022 I am well @LrgmouthShad, thanks for asking. And how are you doing? Zup? As for the oil change, I haven’t changed my vehicles oil since I’ve been fortunate enough to have a boat occupy the garage. After factoring in the time, cost of the oil / filters, and disposal old oil and filter I let the dealership take care of it. I won’t take my vehicles to an oil changing station, too many stripped oil pans over the years. 1 Quote

They do all of these things every single time, never again after having to hammer a screwdriver thru my filter to get it off 2 Quote
