Thanks for posting this @Happybeerbuzz, I had to check to see what I paid for my basic 2022 license with a second rod stamp ($71.02). I look forward to seeing how the increase over 2022’s license fees is going to enhance our fishing.

Indiana went from 17 last year to 23 this year. Hunting went from 24 to 39. I can't imagine the additional funds will go to "conservation".

This thread has me feeling lucky! In Delaware a fishing license will run you $8.50 and a trout stamp $4.20. Less than $15 for a year of all your fishing (for residents. Non-residents are $20 and $6.20 respectively).

Too much out here in CA, 60$ for bare bones 1 rod FW only, +5$ for SW, 20$ for a salmon card, 15$ for an extra rod, lobster is an extra 20$ and then they gift the most asinine rules in existence to follow that make absolutely 0 sense. Not targeting the officers most of them are great people that love the outdoors, but I always ask them a rhetorical question humorously that they can't answer because no human can memorize all the rules without a team of Harvard lawyers.

 

Some common asinine rules none of the officers remember, and rightfully so...

 

1. How many many lures can you have on one rod, and how many hooks can each lure have, what type of hook, and how can they be attached to the lure.

 

2. What parts of water is a Carolina rig illegal

 

3. The definition of a fly is a circular definition and written by a 1st grader, 

"A fly is a type of lure, usually made with thread and materials"

 

So by that asinine definition, does that mean I can use a senko with a loop of thread and a feather tied on it. Even if it didn't have thread or a feather, I could still fish it because it says usually...

All fees collected on behalf of the DNR go to the DNR - also when they brought the lottery here, by constitutional amendment a percentage of the states share goes to the DNR.

Missouri is 12.00. Trout stamp is 7.00. At age 65 you don't need resident fishing permit, but still need a trout stamp.

Correction. Trout tag is 10.00 in Missouri.

$19 for an annual resident fishing license in OH, with 5 year,10 year, and lifetime options available. ODNR keeps it pretty simple without a bunch of seasons for different species. Pay your $19, and fish for whatever, whenever for the most part.

I'm in the same boat here. I live close to the NY/CT/MA borders, so I usually get all 3. I usually do 2-3 7 day licenses in different states too. No complaints though. If those funds are helping keep what we've got, I'm more than happy to pay.

I have been purchasing the Resident Conservation License for about 6 years now instead.  Its half the cost ($12.50) and it permits you half of the daily bag limit for each one posted in the regs.  For example, the daily crappie bag limit is 10, so mine would be 5.  If its an odd number, like 5, then it rounds down to 2.  I haven't kept a fish other than a few small pike for pickling in years so I have no reason to fill a full bag limit anymore.  I went fishing 31 times last season, so it costed me about 40 cents per outing to fish here in MN.  IMO that's downright robbery.

 

Hunting gets a little more complicated and expensive.  A resident deer license is $34, bonus tags are $17.  Spring wild turkey is $28.  Small game and a pheasant stamp is $26 + $7.50.

The cost for a non resident license is $45 and $35 for NC and SC respectively.

Freshwater only is $30, saltwater only is $35, fresh & saltwater is $40.  A super combo which covers freshwater, saltwater, and hunting is $68 (federal duck stamp is extra).  Active duty military and disabled vets fish & hunt for free.

I bought a NC Lifetime Sportsman license decades ago.  I don't remember what it cost.   It covers most hunting including big game and inland fishing.   There's a federal Bear stamp, and duck stamp required to hunt either of them.  I've never hunted Duck.  I used to bear hunt but that was before the required additional stamp.  

 

I just renewed Mrs B's NC inland fishing license.  It's $25 per year for a resident.  

 

I also fish in SC.  SC non resident fishing license is $35 per year,  or $105 for 3 years.  No discount for the 3 year price but that's the way I go so I don't have to renew as often.
