Those little craws are Larew 'tiny salt craws'.  I bet some of the last in exsistence.

I think I still have some that I got in one of those 20$ worm buckets that cabelas sold 25 yrs ago.  I had one on a bitsy bug when I caught my first jig fish.

My very first plastic worm bass was caught on a pre-rigged grape Fliptail 6" worm in 1971. I've seen the Fliptail worms a few times since then, and they've always had a special meaning for me.

I never see "Manns Classic Spinnerbait Trailers" mentioned.   I use them on spinnerbaits and jigs.  They're tough, pretty much indestructible, until they get near any other soft plastic.

Mann's 'Two-Fer'  It's a topwater that tied on one way is a buzzer that floats and when reversed is a chugger similar to a Lucky13. If you're lucky enough to have one, I know a killer hack that will double its effectiveness under the right conditions.  :wink7:

In live bait it's the hellgramite. They're picked from under rocks in the river's current and drifted through the rifts for SM in the Susquehanna.

I've still got and occasionally use the Fliptail Lizard. Big floating lizard that really is unique compared to newer lizards.

loose surface grass that’s just a bit too much for a buzzbait but not yet matted. Same for lily pad fields with plenty of gaps. Go for it.

Gotta be a real man to catch one of them.  Big ones draw blood like no crawdad can.

Yeah, I would say so!  I also guess it’s because of the frequency I fish them. My one buddy and I had a joke because we caught so many on the same TRD worm without changing it. “my ned don’t ned no more” it just kind of stuck.

Absolutely.  I'm a terrible swimmer in current, even with a PFD on and using a paddle to get me to the eddy.  They go upstream.

Where you are on the food chain has nothing to do with toughness.  Think about the honeybadger.  River bass live a hard life.  And then you eat them.
