Wife gives the best gifts - guided trip

So the wife saved this one until this morning.

 

She got me a 4-hour guided trip on Tonka for the middle of June

 

While it IS my home lake, and I do fairly well on it - this is going to give me personalized details on when/where/how as well as some more detailed lure selections.

 

How she scraped up the money for it, I don't know...but she did and I'm almost in shock here.

External lapel mic, 256gb card, external battery good for 12 hours - long as everything is good, I should be set.

Ya - while there are brown-bass in Tonka, they're few and far between.

Tonka's got quite a wide variety of fish in it.

 

This is stated as a bass trip, but we might tag into some ESOX or Walleyes

 

2018, a guy pulled this 54" musky out of the lake.

 

Some big northerns have also been caught

 

And the walleye aren't bad either

Seaplane…….. that reminds me. I saw one of those this fall right near my house haha. Wild. I guess you’d have to call it a riverplane. I’m just fishing some riprap and here she goes

Pardon my ignorance but do big Northerns get the same size as Muskies.....I see pics of big Pikes and many times think they are Muskies.

 

That pic above makes the Musky look a bit heavier, but generally they look quite similar.  

 

I hear Pike aren't good fighters, is that true?   I know Musky are awesome fighters.

That's some kind of experimental "sea plane".    It's like a paramotor on steriods combined with a ultralight combined with pontoons.   What a weird cool, and I'm sure extremely fun plane.

They're close cousins and while Pike can get big, on average Muskys are bigger.

Purebred Musky: 54# 0oz

MN Fisher is correct, however there is a caveat: European pike grow ginormous. They're the same species as North American pike, but I'm guessing it's a northern strain/southern strain LM deal. Here's one:
