Personally, I think that our differences in faith (and politics) may have made Chuck and I even closer. Fishing is what brought us together back in "the day". He used to fish the old EverStart Series. It's crazy how close two people can get traveling, camping, practice fishing, etc. Both retired now but we talk almost every day. We end each phone call/ text/ letter with I love you. Quote

Don’t we already have enough Chinese plastic? thanksgiving is 1 million times better X2 Society has skipped right over Thanksgiving. My wife starts putting holiday decorations out the first week of November, right after Halloween. I walked into Menards the first week of October and they already had a dedicated seasonal section for Christmas. How much of this nonsense can a guy tolerate? We're going on 2.5 months of it. Quote

Thanksgiving isn't a profitable holiday - Halloween you sell buckets of candy, Christmas you sell acres of toys and tchotchkes - what's the draw to stores for Thanksgiving? It's the stores and marketing that drive things now - real reasons for holidays have been lost. 2 Quote
