I am hoping in the next year or two to get a new boat. I am going to more than likely be getting a 17ft G3 tunnel center consolewith a 90HP jet. I am still debating on a 80 or 112 thrust terrova. I would like the 112 but, do not want to carry around the weight of a third battery. If any of you have a jet you know how keeping them as light as possible is key. As far as electronics I will go with a 9” screen bow and console.

What are you guys looking at getting for your next purchase?

Never had a jet but if weight is that crucial I would look into lithium batteries. I run 4 in my boat and what a difference in weight. That jet will be sweet on the Susq.

I was admiring your boat yesterday, dont you have a jet? Does it not get skinny enough? How much do you want for it, you can go find the next one :D

I am very interested in a Lund Renegade.  The 2022 version of the 1775 model can handle a 90 hp outboard and the length on the trailer is only 20 feet, 4 inches.  That would fit better in my garage than my current Ranger RT178.  It would save me about 18 inches.

I like my current rig, so I don't see this as an urgent purchase.  But potentially in the future.  I just moved in May into a house that I intend to stay at long term until I retire.

I'm a loyal one-kayak guy.  I take my relationship seriously...no more one-year stands...

(I kept my Hobie Compass for about a year)

Oh it gets plenty skinny.  I just want a little bigger and a center console. A tunnel is a bonus.I only had the jet since 21 so I do want to get some more use out of it before I get a new boat.

@GaryH jets are very finicky weight and weight distribution wise. I’m not saying they won’t get on plane but, the faster you can get on plane the safer it is. I like to cruise 24-25 and when I see it getting shallow go wide open. When in doubt throttle out.

I am heading out next week to pick up my Hobie Pro Angler 14.  Going to snag the 2022 model before the prices go up for 2023.  Multiple shops and my research say there aren't any changes for 2023 other than the price increase.  If anyone has heard or knows any different, let me know. Then I'll add the Motor guide Xi3 kayak 36" trolling motor and a good 100+ ah lithium battery.  Probably pick those up around same time as I found the motor in stock.  Don't want to wait till spring and run into shortages. Then I'll be waiting for the new Lowrance active target 2 electronics to be released and will try to snag that and another lithium ion battery for the electronics.

That’s how I feel.
