I’ve been using shorter jerkbaits in Canada for smallmouth.  I’ve used some Rouge Jrs.  Anyone have suggestions of other shorter/smaller jerkbaits that still get 4-6 feet deep?

Ima Flit fits the bill. Canadian smallies love them. The flit 100 is 3.9" long & the flit 120 is 4.75". Favorite color is bone white with orange on the belly.

So I haven’t used it yet but the 13 fishing whipper snapper is small and gets down to that depth, a certain two YouTubers think it’s a great bait too. I’m definitely buying a few as soon as I have the extra money. The pointer 78 is my current favorite small jerkbait. The X nanahan is one that fits the description as well and again I’m very excited to try this one too, small jerkbaits are too much fun.

I've been using some yo zuri 3dr minnows, they have okay action, slow float in warmer water, they where 2.50$ on black Friday so well worth it, with 6lb line you can get 5 feet. wouldn't pay the retail msrp for them tho.  Tried the Berkley stunna 70, it was alright but I didn't fish it enough to get a good idea, dives 2-3 from what I remember.

Do you have length and weight in mind, 2 treble hooks?

Lucky Craft B Freeze 78, 3” runs about 5’

Owner Cultiva Rip ‘N Minnow 65, 2 1/2”, runs about 4’, 70, 3”, runs about 5’.

Daiwa TD Minnow SP 95, 3 1/2”, runs about 5’ deep.

All above have 2 treble hooks.

I don’t think there is a 70 stunna yet? I would be all over it though.

I just got a couple of those

Send me a completed DD Form 254, and I'll send you a FleaBay link to a discontinued one that you might want to try...

My bad I ment 90, had it in blue yellow, don't remember it much because I caught 3 fish then it hooked into wood.

Duo Realis rozante 77 sp.  Best small profile jerkbait around.

Megabass vision jr and vision jr +1.

OSP Bent minnow.  Underrated.  Moves like a shallow running vision.  A cross between a shallow running twitch bait and a topwater.   Should be way more popular than it gets credit for.

Lucky Craft Pointer 65. This has been by far my most productive smallmouth bait in the spring for the last 10 years.

Make sure to provide the cage code as well.

You upped my whole jerkbait game since I learned about these from one of your posts a while back.

LC Pointer 78sp and DD are the best SM jerkbaits I have ever used. This is based on having fished them for 18 years.

Others I would recommend:

LC Slender pointer 97mr

Rapala Husky Jerk 10

Team Daiwa 1091

Do you fish these like regular jerkbaits or is it more of a pull and stop?

I fish them like a regular jerkbait but they work just fine with a pull and stop retrieve also.

They really are amazing little baits.
