I thought it might be fun to have a centralized place to celebrate some of those fishing boat modifications or "repair" horror with pics that tell the story. Things that make us go "Huh?", "Wow", "What the heck were they thinkin?" kinda pics. Just when I thought maybe I had seen the pinnacle of 'jankyness' . . . .

I present my most recent find as inspiration to kickoff this thread as this was too good not to share. I am hoping you all have some Jankytown awesomeness to share to. Let's see what you've got!

I can see that as a way to make the main motor more weed-resistant.

It may very well make the outboard more weed-resistant, until it doesn't, LOL.

That takes the rake?

Rakes were a common "rock guard" on the Susquehanna for years. But I will say the breakaway attachment system is unusual. ?

Jankytown Submission v2.0

I sit in stupified amazement that this could just be something I should know about, or it's as odd to others as it is to me. I amazed either way.

I guess you'd have to have a mud flat of some sort to have a use for that. To me, a flat is a bank with less than a 20° slope ;~)

I’m not sure I see the problem here. He triple clamped it. That has to be up to code.

Just as long as after he put the 3rd clamp on it he audibly stated "Yeah, that's not going anywhere!"

I don't have any pictures of it and it's nowhere near as janky as what has already been posted, but on a boat I used to have the previous owner must have had some great electrical skills. The front switch panel must have given up the ghost on him and instead of buying a new one for $12 and taking the 5 minutes to un-plugging the female ends from the old switch bank and putting them onto the new one, he just cut all the wires off and left them there. He then had a "marine" dealership wire in a non waterproof switch for the trim up there. My first time I fished in the rain, my motor would trim down and the pump would just continue to run.

I'm pretty sure the plumbers tape is supposed to be pop-riveted into the lower unit in at least two places on each 'clamp'.

I think this thread should be dedicated to all the stuff I see on the susky. That def had to be a susky boat.

Jankytown has no geographic location. You're certainly free to start your own 'susky-centric' thread, but otherwise. . . . Bring it on down to (this) Jankytown. It's all welcome here.

I’ve seen so much questionable and dangerous stuff on the susky it would blow your mind.

Can't find the pictures but @ the ramp a couple of years ago I saw a trailer tied in the trunk of a car, no hitch.

I saw a guy with a boat trailer on a roll back tow truck. Back the roll back down tilt it then winched the trailer down to the water and launched it off the boat trailer. I wish I could have got a pic or video I was just so in shock of what I saw.
