Looking to purchase a fishfinder for the front of my boat (trolling motor) I look online in books everywhere but seems the more I look at the more confused I get. Looking to spend between 500-600 I see things like down scan,side imaging but I was wondering do they work with a trolling motor transducer. Would like to update the one that I have on the driving consaul but will have to wait till next year. Any help and ideas would be appricated

I have two LCX17M Lowrance units networked together that i can sell for 500.00. Ready to bolt on. These are the larger screen units that will give you sonar/gps at both locations.

I use regular sonar, Down Imaging and Side Imaging on the trolling motor, wouldn't be without it.

You may find a used Imaging unit in that price range.

If you can live without the side imaging on the TM (and lots of people do), both Lowrance and H-Bird offer units in your price range with the down imaging.  IMO, that makes it a WHOLE lot better than just an ordinary graph.  You'll be able to actually see what's down there instead of looking at a colored blob on the screen.  Most dealerships will have them set up in demo mode.  Take a look.
