wrat Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 First time on the lake in 30 years and first time EVER in my own boat , Launched out of Mile Creek around 2pm wind was BLOWIN probably around 20 drove around a bit until I found a cove I liked threw a trap from 20 into 40ft and got 2 spots and a largemouth saw 'em school up for a minute just out of range and could not get over fast enough , was back at the ramp by 415, all in all pretty happy that I was able to get a few on a brand new to me lake on my first time out in the middle of the afternoon , first one was small but was my first SC Spot so 8 Quote

You, and others may already know.....Duke energy pumps water from Keowee back into Jocassee during non peak demand times to use the same water, for the same generator again. (Same thing with Jocassee into Bad Creek. If Duke does that at any other lakes I don't know about it. Quote
GANGGREEN Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 Nice. I started fishing Keowee for the first time last winter at this time. There's a learning curve for sure because I've done most of my bass fishing on the Finger Lakes or other northern waters, but they aren't THAT hard to figure out and Spots are cool because they're aggressive and they school. We've been down on the lake now for almost a month, but I haven't put the boat on Keowee yet, just too many other things to do this winter. I like to fly fish too, so that bites into my time on the lakes. 1 Quote
