You know what really frustrates me?

When I spend time checking that hook sharpness, checking my knots and checking them twice, researching the weather and lake, remembering to put on some KVD L&L the night before, makin my lure smell real good with some anise, casting right next to a stump on a point, soft water landing, slack line fall, and an entitled 12” dink thinks he’s too good for my bait. It’s maddening!

Bass are so entitled these days. And “woke” culture is educating these bass to ignore my lures. Is my rod too short? Is my lure not expensive enough? Is it evident that I don’t make 100K a year? Entitled bass, shake my head

If you worry about the rod being too short and your lure being too cheap...I caught a 16in largemouth Wednesday on a cheap tungsten ice jig on a 23un ultralight ice rod while chasing crappies. No woke, entitled, millenial bass up here in Iowa.

There’s a real good lesson in these two posts somewhere ?

Have I posted the tacklebox I’ve been working out of this past month? Caught them good on a 55 year old Spoonplug just 2 weeks ago that had some old galvanized type hook in it…

Oh sure it’s a pocket sized kit but show us the mothership that it came from!!! Bet you got several rooms worth ? I have a set of Buck Perry Spoon Plugs or look alikes that came in a used tackle box. I think there is 5 or 6 all in different sizes.

They’re a neat bait that still catches fish. I admit, I’ve got a pretty good collection of them back on the mothership :Antena:

She's not the one for you. Don't sweat it, there's more fish in the sea.

I thought they ignored my cheap lures because I make 100K and but buy cheap lures and have a cheap boat.   Maybe I should try attaching a 1040 to my lure.:D

My braid/line cutters….they’re small, but good.

Ohh, I gotcha..I carry a Leatherman stylus that I found on the bank a few years back. They're slightly bigger then a AA battery.  Instead of pliers its got a pair of small very sharp shears.

What sized husky jerk is that? Do you find the smaller husky jerks still have a decent “dart” when you twitch em?

HJ08 - They have a nice roll/twitch to them - not crazy erratic. Just make sure to adjust your line size to the smaller profile. I typically use either 6 or 8 pound test with these. I've caught a lot of bass on them the past several years, including some nice sized ones, too.

Sweet thanks! Do you ever use the even smaller sizes?

I haven’t, but I have used the larger sizes - lol. HJ08 seems like the perfect pond size to me. Good balance between running depth, ability to cast reasonably far, and gets bit by all sizes of bass. I try to carry as little tackle as possible with me.

Don't blame me, I feel like Lenny Bruce doing 2 shows a night on a Disney cruise...
