zeppy Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 what kind of lures and techniques would you use on a pond that is mainly all grass about a foot from the surface all over. Where would i start?? Quote
Super User T-rig Posted August 18, 2007 Super User Posted August 18, 2007 Buzzbaits, light spinnerbaits, Lucky Craft LV-O, t-rigged softbaits. Quote
fishbear Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Chatterbait, burned over the top of the grass! Quote
Super User Marty Posted August 19, 2007 Super User Posted August 19, 2007 I agree with the above. There are so many things you can do when you're fishing submerged vegetation. Where you start will largely be an arbitrary decision since there are so many techniques. I'd start with something you have a lot of confidence in, then switch if it's not working. Quote
Pigsticker Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 throw a wacky rigged anything to all openings in the grass or a t-rigged swim senko, swim it on the surface. Quote
CrazedL.IFisherman Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 For all grassy situations and i can attest, a great lure are any types of frog, esp. the yum buzz frogs, my fishing partner knocks em dead with these lures while im cleaning weeds of my baits, i use 6 inch worms texas rigged with small hooks so the lure does not sink right into the weeds, hope this helps Quote
Joey_Doe Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 topwaters, cranks, spinners -- buzzbaits'll pull em out of the grass -- rattles also let em know something's coming Quote
