Reading through this thread, it is obvious that some states do a much better job at maintaining their public access points than others.  Up here in MN, when there is one that is in need of repairs, they generally do it in a relatively timely manner.  Apparently that is not the case around the country.

Honestly, the only access that I would not be able to use here is because of very low water.  I can't remember a time when I was not able to use an access because it was in such poor shape.  Most accesses I have used have at least one dock too, some have more.

There is a few ramps like that I have been to. I agree high water does play a factor in it. I also can’t say I have ever seen them do maintenance to any. The only ramp i have seen them replace they made worse launching wise. Instead of replacing the cement planks they filled it in with stone then pushed a cement pad out and called it a day. The cement pad is already shifting. It’s a glorified kayak ramp now to be honest. That was after they got I don’t know how many signatures and petitions to get it done.

You guys need to head up north. Hammond, Cowanesque, bald eagle, rose valley, chillisquaque, pisgqha, tioga river reservoir all have great ramps some are electric only.

I would love to get up to the cowanesque someday. It’s just a good bit of a drive for me.

Most ramps up here are pretty good. There's a few that need some work, and some that could use a little more parking, but for the most part there's very few I avoid. We also don't have huge lakes up here so a lot of lakes only have 1 landing which is probably why they're better taken care of as it makes it harder to ignore the problems.

When it comes to favorites, there is this one little dirt ramp, not a ton of parking, not very well lit and it needs a little maintenance, but it does have a dock! Despite it not being anything fancy, it beats out other ramps I use as my favorite because it's mine! haha Love the convenience of walking out of the house and just backing the boat in. No drama, or waiting for the people who wait until they're backed halfway down the ramp to start loading everything but the kitchen sink into their boat.
