I forgot this was one of those threads…… I like the idea of ice fishing, and watch it frequently on YouTube , just not sure I could walk out onto a frozen lake when push comes to shove Quote
MidwestBassAttack Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Not much fishing-related items this off season. Have some significant life changes so most of my time will primarily be spent with my Martin 000 guitar 2 Quote

That slush isn't going to freeze all winter because the powder on top of it is insulating it from completely freezing. I'm guessing that you won't see many vehicles out there this winter and the ones you do are boneheaded, just asking to get stuck. There's enough safe ice to walk out there now, but its really tough walking. And pulling a sled full of gear the whole time too. 1 Quote

Used to spend lots of time with my Takamine until the kids started to come. Still grab her occasionally but durn them strings hurt tender fingers! Quote
uglyasheck Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Winter is the next best time to fish here Spring being the best overall. I love fishing in the winter no deer hunters on the water. LOL Just me and a my buddy most times with exception of a few more hardcore guys here and there. They don't like the temps going down but once stable or moving back up its ON. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted December 21, 2022 Super User Posted December 21, 2022 In the extended off season up here, I usually get my gear in order for the upcoming year. That usually includes cleaning and lubing reels, swapping out hooks, and getting everything reorganized. I'll order tackle to replace what I'm low in stock on and find new things to try. I'll usually order things for the boat as well, even though I won't end up being able to work on it until I pull it out of storage in a few months. I usually try to edit some videos from the previous year as well and fill at least a few nights a week playing men's league basketball. This winter I'm hoping to continue with all of the above mentioned, but I'm also managing some DIY home renovations as well so we'll see what actually gets accomplished lol 1 Quote

I forgot to add scale modeling to my earlier reply! I've got around 25 older NASCAR and local type late model stock cars to build. I'll probably get around to building two, maybe three before early spring. Quote
