The Mississippi River is expected to rise 5' here at Memphis. The Pickwick Dam gates are open releasing 130,000 cfs 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week and that may be increased! Our drought appears to be over. 1 Quote

They are increasing flows significantly here on the top end so I would expect the same for pickwick in a week or so Quote
ScottW Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 We got hammered down here on the coast too. Thought some of that lightning was dropping on the camper a few times it got so bright. No real high winds thankfully but plenty of rain and fireworks. Tornado warnings stopped here around 8pm CT in our area. @AlabamaSpothunter how’s the SS Minnow II? ? 1 Quote

Several feet, dock across the way isn't floating and is submerged. Lake has huge flood drains that flow into the Cahaba River. This is a big reason why I was able to stock the lake as a teenager with Spotted Bass. I'd catch them down in the Cahaba in the areas where the lake would run off into and sprint them back up and into the lake. Super taboo now, and perhaps back then......but it's why the lake is really special to me. Every Spot I catch has DNA from the first couple dozen fish I put in there 25yrs ago. These big rains were always when I would go catch those Spots in the river. 5 Quote
Super User T-Billy Posted December 16, 2022 Super User Posted December 16, 2022 No storms, but it was pouring rain and low 40's all day up here. My muskie guide friend was out in it all day with a couple clients. They hammered 'em. They ended up with seven. Six over 40", with the big fish being 47" and the smallest 39". 2 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted December 16, 2022 Super User Posted December 16, 2022 It came through here too. Thought I had my roof leak fixed but the heavy rain made it leak again… Now it’s turning colder just in time for my 2 week vacation … ? 1 Quote
