Finally got to go!

After several weekends of Honey-do's and Farm projects I finally hooked up the boat and headed for the Big T. Got to the ramp at South Pittsburg Tennessee and my "Fishing gauge" was under water ( The boat dock). Instead of a gentle soothing lady, the Big T was an angry, raging torrent!

Plan B

Went above the dam to Nickajack proper and lake fished for the first time all year. It was a dreary, rainy, foggy day, (I use a 15' long umbrella), and I haven't lake fished in so long I really didn't have a clue as how to proceed. Ended up with four fat ones in six hours of fishing, (1.5 fish per hour), but at least I got to go!

Nice. The big river is still calm up this way, although they said we are 2 inches over normal rainfall amounts. They store most of the flood water in Douglas Cherokee and Norris upstream of me

My fuzzy math continues to impress! Four fish in 6 hours is .66 fish per hour!

Our ponds still haven't frozen. If I weren't afraid of tipping and dying, I'd still be fishing. The water might still be soft, but it's cold enough to quick freeze me.

I went out too on Wednesday, hadn’t been in a while. We are still lightly flooded here on the St John’s. I got skunked… still had fun though.

I could fire off a few casts, but then I'd have to worm through the thicket that's a Maine forest. I see photos posted by the shore fishers here, with the grass sloping down to the water, but the local ponds and bogs are nothing like that. However, thanks for the suggestion!

I haven’t been out in awhile I’m itching but, don’t think it will happen. Great job getting some fish in the boat!

That itch sometimes overwhelms better judgement. It's getting really cold here (for me that is), and the itch is beginning to cloud my reasoning. We will have highs in the low 20's by Friday so if I am going. it better be soon.
