Super User Bankbeater Posted December 11, 2022 Super User Posted December 11, 2022 I use a SLX 150 on a M/F rod that leans a little toward the light side. I use on this rig for moving baits mostly in the 1/4 ounce size, but I have fished 3/8 suspending jerkbaits with it. Quote
jitterbug127 Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Curado mgl 150 will cover all of your needs and give you some more on the heavy side as well. Quote
Jabo225 Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 I wanted a setup just like you (OP) described. Settled on slx mgl 8.1 paired with a Curado 610 medium light. Reel is spooled with 20 lb power pro Maxcuatro with 7 - 12 lb leader depending on application. When casting the slx mgl, baits seems to fly off the reel. Can cast shaky head as well or better than my other spinning outfits. The setup is very nimble and light. It’s very fun to fish with. 1 Quote
928JLH Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Has anyone fished the SS SV103 and the Alphas SVTW 800? The SS SV is getting tired and was wondering how the Alphas would handle skipping weightless senkos spring and little jerkbaits now. Quote
JN94 Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 I do a lot of that same kind of fishing with the same weight lures and my favorite rod for creek hopping is a Curado 6'10" ML Fast. This rod is perfect imo. It's got enough stiffness that it feels really stout and you can pull fish away from cover when needed but it will cast down to 3/16oz total weight with the proper reel and line. It's rated up to 1/2oz and I'd say that's accurate. Can't recommend it enough. I've got it paired with a Curado 70 MGL and 20lb braid Quote

I love it, casts great and very smooth 1 Quote
