2019 F150. 6 cyl. Gets 25mpg on the highway, 19 pulling the boat. When I’m fishing but not using my boat, the rods hang from a rack mounted on the ceiling of the cap.

Makes me miss my previous truck

1998 WT-1500 (they call it a 1500HD now), 2WD, 4.3l Vortec 6, 5-speed manual. On a trip from MN to MA, I averaged 27.4mpg

Oddly I haven’t owned a pick up truck ever!

Back in the 60’s To this day owned 2 vehicles, 1 was a Chevy Suburban the other a hot street car.

2005 bought my wife a MB C55 Amg and sold my Suburban in 2023 for GL450, still have both cars.

Tom

I have a 2001 suburban that I call my fishing wagon.  I love that thing.

08 Tundra with 185k miles on it. Gets about 13mpg without the boat, 11 with it. Rods ride on the boat to the lake if I'm in the boat, or in the passenger seat if I'm in the yak.

Fair enough.  When we moved back from the UK I debated between a GMC denali and the ram limited.  I'm not sad about my choice, but I'd have been happy in the GMC also.  So long as it was red...

I've had a number of Denali's and I liked them.

At the time they were the 'best option' available.

But there was too much chrome and it's not really my style.

The current AT4 is better for me & my needs, in all respects.

No reason to go back at this point.

08 Audi A3. Great for city parking and can fit all the necessary gear.

This is the way.

More than a fireplace, more than anything else my next apartment/house will have to have a box or a garage because one of those things is next on my list. It's the only reason I haven't gotten a kayak just yet. The ol' rental canoe isn't the same and guided trips aren't exactly cheap.

05 Silverado Z71 with about 150k miles on it. Get like 15 ish mpg. Wanted to upgrade this year but with the price and unavailability of new vehicles I spent some money on the house. Plus the old lady has knee surgery so I've been helping her with those bills.

I got gifted the yak by a coworker and living in a small apartment makes it so this thing basically lives on my car. Only time its taken off is for long road trips. I'll tell ya, its worth the hassle given the places I can now fish.

2020 Ford Ranger. I'm averaging about 26-27mpg down here on the south Florida flat roads, which helps out a LOT with my Everglades trips!

2020 Z -71 RST 6.2 and I will occasionally drive my wife's 2018 Z -71 LTZ 6.2 to keep her battery charged. Rods 7'6" and under ride diagonal in the truck bed, longer rods ride inside the truck. Our rough roads and my light(bouncing) jon boat is to rough on my rods.

Hard to beat the 6.2 with a 10 speed auto. Mine gets average of 21mpg with 25mpg on the highway. Now pulling the boat that’s a different story.

My rods are secured in the boats rod lockers. In years past, I was able to place my rods in the back of an SUV even when pulling a boat and at times I miss that feature. I currently have a very capable street truck in a 2020 GMC Sierra to get my boat to the water

2022 Tundra

I haven't broken in the engine enough to have an accurate MPG when towing but I expect something around 12.  Naturally, I'd like this to be higher.  My rods stay in the boat.   Just ordered a Fas-Top canvas top/Tonneau Cover.  Truck has been awesome.

We get 15.5 & 16 mpg. Which is exactly what my last 6.2 and 5.3's got mpg.

2019 Ram pulls my “tacklebox”, the Smokercraft. Third Ram I’ve owned and never had any issues with them. If I’m shore fishing or using the 12’ tinny, the rods are in the front seat.

2006 4Runner with a V8. 170K miles on it and still runs great. Rods go from back to front between seats if the kayak is on the roof; in the boat if towing the boat.

I usually drive my 2013 F-150 super crew 4x4, it's the 3.5 V6 Ecoboost. I average about 17 mpg but I live on a mountain and it kills my fuel mileage. I prefer to pull the boat with my 08 Tahoe but it's got a little lift and only gets about 13mpg. My hunting vehicle is a 97 S10 blazer with a set of mudders on it. I get about 15 mpg in it. I usually drive my wife's Honda Accord to work to save money on gas. I carry my rods in my boat or the back of the truck if I'm not using the boat. I have trouble posting pictures on here, they all say they're over the MB limit.
