I'm a big hockey fan but in recent times, I must admit my passion for watching the sport has dwindled. I played hockey all of my childhood, mostly at the recreational level but I played competitively from the ages of 14-17. You can even find my stats online if you search my name. I quit playing organized hockey when I was 18 to focus on my education. Nowadays, I help coach a minor hockey team when I have the time. I am on the ice 1-2 times per week.

Being a born and raised Montrealer, my team is the Montreal Canadiens. We're doing far better than expected this year and I'm feeling pretty optimistic about the future ever since the new management took over about a year ago. We've got some good young guns, hopefully they live up to their potential!

Played competitive hockey with my brothers growing up. Won a silver stick.

Coached my daughters in competitive hockey too. My youngest D won an Ontario Provincial championship last year.

I usually put in a 40' x 60' backyard rink which is alot of fun for me.

I follow the womens national team, leafs and bruins.

The Boston Bruins (38-5-4) became the fastest team in NHL history to hit the 80-point plateau, reaching the mark in just 47 games. That's two games quicker than the 1979-80 Philadelphia Flyers and 1943-44 Montreal Canadiens, both of whom reached the mark in 49 games.

Just trying to savor every game at this point.

If I'm not mistaken, I think they've only lost 1 home game in regulation.  It was a 3-0 loss to the Kraken.  I haven't checked it that close lately though, maybe there has been more now.

What’s not to like about a Hockey fight?So yeah I’m a fan.

Fighting has mostly been weeded out of the game now.  On rare occasion there is one, but not nearly as many scraps as there used to be.  Goon hockey is dead.  Its a skill and speed game now.  If the only asset a player brings to the roster is his fists, there's no room for him anymore.  Look around the league.  Very few remaining.

The “fighter” on the team hockey hands are better than his punching hands. The days of the enforcers are long gone. Being in fights doesn’t win you games. I do think as a result you tend to seem more cheap shots. As much as I like Marchand back in the 90s and before he would have needed a nose job snd his jaw wired shut.

Especially when the playoffs come around, there is basically none.  An instigator penalty can put you on a penalty kill and cost you a goal that costs you a game.  Isn't worth wasting a roster spot for a goon anymore in this day and age.

Chicago Blackhawks, Followed them during the days of Stan Makita, Bobby & Dennis Hull, Phil and Tony Esposito and Keith Magnusen. The Bruins were our mortal enemies.  I played organized for 11 years till I aged out.

My brother is a Hawks fan.  He puffed his chest out for a few years.  But lately, I haven't heard much from him lol.  He's back down the rabbit hole he originated from now I'm sure.

With a handful of games left who is your pick to win the cup? I think it goes without much surprise I am going with the Bruins.

Life long Bruins fan ~

There's never been a regular season like this.

Super fun to watch.

The road to the Cup is treacherous.

I'll be watching with my fingers crossed.

Like I tell everyone. The post season is where it matters the most. It’s great having a season like the bruins but, they need the icing on the cake with the cup!

I have been watching a fair amount of Minnesota Wild games lately.  Clearly, the eastern conference is the superior one this season.  The west is much more volatile.  The MN Wild have gone on a 13-2-7 run since the all-star break.  Many of those "ties" resulted in shoot out wins so they have been getting points even when they don't win in regulation.  I often hear analysts say that you have to "lose your way up the standings" too.  The only 2 regulation losses in that span: versus the Bruins and versus the Golden Knights, the two current conference leaders.

Here is a picture of me from a lifetime ago:

I made the mistake of retiring from hockey early and thinking I could do well in another sport (motorsports). There isn't a day that goes by that I don't regret leaving when I did.

My team is the Montreal Canadiens. They're awful this year. Between losing two great vets recently -Carey Price and Shea Weber- and injuries this year, I'm just hoping the stars align and they get the #1 overall pick in the draft. I'm not really going out on a limb here by saying Connor Bedard is going to be a generational player.

As much as it pains me to say this, I don't think anyone can stop the Bruins this year. They have enough veteran leadership to not lose focus during the playoffs. But that being said, the playoffs are the most wonderful time of the year.

The Bruins have established a new NHL record with their 63rd win today, a 5-3 triumph over the Flyers. David Pastrnak tallied a hat trick, the third being his 60th goal of the season. They have 2 games remaining. I’m guessing it will be mostly just going through the motions now until the postseason so they stay healthy.

I don’t foresee them running into a problem in the first round, but the winner of the Toronto/Tampa series could provide some competition.

It was also his 300th goal of his career.  His 4th hat trick against the flyers.

Stars vs The Wild in the 1st round! Should be a great matchup and definitely some animosity there among the fan bases, at least from the Minnesota side.

Horrible start times this week.  They're all about a 9pm central time zone start, which is complete BS.  I can't stay awake for more than about a period or so.  ESPN won't start it until the east coast games end.  They do this every year to the central time zone teams.

I filled out a bracket and I have the Bruins over the Oilers in the final in 5 games.  Edmonton has the best player, but Boston clearly has the best team.

I agree, 2 central time zone teams shouldn't have to start at freaking 9pm. This should be a great series.

The Bruins are going to be tough to beat. I'm happy for Jim Montgomery though, he seemed like a great guy when he was here in Dallas, maybe liked to have a little too much fun though. lol
