I recently sold most of my tackle to try some new stuff manufacturers put out. I need some jerkbaits, and I am not willing to part with 25 dollars and lose a Megabass on the first cast.

So far I'm looking at a Shadow Rap, Pointer 78, and the frontrunner, a Hit Stick. I want to imitate perch as they are the main forage.

Any suggestions?

And any other newer lures that work.

Add in the Jackall rerange.  I like the MR for my waters.

Rapala X-Rap

I got one of those, I love how I can bomb it out there. But I caught more fish on the ripstop than the X rap. I also have the olive color, but I need a perch jerkbait for my collection.

Is it primarily a walleye and trout bait? I was hearing some stuff about that on another thread.

Shallow version has been my go to for several years now, I love the action on it for both big smallmouth all season, and very big pike in the spring and fall.
Just got into the deeper version this year and it’s definitely one that I’m gonna get a few more colours of next year.

Yo-Zuri 3DB Series Jerkbait. That and a Smithwick  Perfect 10 Rogue when I want something that runs deeper.

I like the Jackall Rerange, the Yo-Zuri 3DB 110, and the KVD Deep.  The Rerange is one of the best casting hard baits I've thrown, the YZ is my budget Rerange, and the KVD gets down and gets bit.

Check out Duo Realis.  The 100sp has a rounder body like a Pointer and doesnt have a WT system, but casts very well, where the 120sp has WT system, the flat sides and action similar to the Vision 110.  The Duo 110sp is kind of like the 120, but is a little rounder and has a lazier action.

Duo Rozante 77SP has a limited color offering, but it is a great bait.

Rapala husky jerk in glass perch color either regular suspend or DD suspend absolutely kills them. I think it caught over 20 smallies over 6 lbs in my boat including one at 7-2. The DD model in the largest size was the ticket for Lake Erie smallie in the 15-25 foot depths.

I have done well with the 6th sense provoke and the shadow rap family. I have the Jackall ReRange but haven’t had the success others have had with it yet.

Husky Jerk

I gained confidence with jerkbaits in recent years with Husky Jerks. The one drawback with the bait was casting distance which can be an issue since I bank fish. I now fish exclusively with Duo Realis Rozzantes (63 and 77). They have a weight transfer system which really helps distance. Not six bucks or so like a Husky but still in OP's budget.

You can't hardly go wrong with an old school Rouge or Rattling Rouge. You could get two of them for $16.00. I have Megabass, Lucky Craft, Duo Realis, Rapala, Strike King etc, etc in my jerkbait box but I always save room for Rouge's.

Shadow Rap Shad is a great one to throw, as well. It's a slow riser that does a good job of mimicking a dying shad. No weight transfer but it casts well.

I would also suggest the H2O Xpress Ultimate Jerk Shad (if you can get a hold of it, I haven't seen the new H2OX stuff available yet since Academy clearanced their last wave of baits), for 6 bucks it's a very effective 110-sized jerkbait.

Replace your hooks and split rings on both.

Now that IS a walleye lure that catches bass... :) Still in my rotation.
