I am looking for a good Lowrance fish finder for a 2017 Tracker boat pro team 175 txw console that my wife got me for Christmas. It comes with a small fish finder on a console and on the bow but I’m looking to upgrade the console first. Any ideas would be helpful, and remember I’m looking at Lowrances.

You can spend however much you want.   I've got a Lowrance HDS Live on my console and a Carbon on the bow.  I had a Lowrance Elite TI2 on the console.  When I went to the carbon on the bow, with active target I upgraded the Elite so I could network them and shared active target.

Lowrance just came out with something new.  I suspect there will be a bunch of used units for sale soon,

I've got the Elite TI2 (7 inch) with no transducer.   If you're interested I'll make you a deal on it.   I'm near Chesnee in Grover NC.  I'd recommend getting a Carbon or newer though with an ethernet port so when you update your bow unit you can share sonar.

I got my (9 inch) Carbon and (7inch) Live as well as my active target from Russel Marine.  The live was used, but was like new.

Woody, you have given me something to think about and I thank you. Let me do some more research and I’ll be getting back with you. Thanks again

This happens pretty regularly, like almost every year.  When a marine electronics company comes out with their new models with updated technology, the ones from the previous year often go on a discount because they are "outdated."  That's how I got my Carbon.  I bought it a year later when for 40% off when the Live units came out.

JB if your going to be upgrading to a larger unit, I would recommend the larger unit on the bow. You’ll appreciate it while looking down when your fishing.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a carbon? My marine electronics is Not up-to-date. My Wife had to get a double transplant these last two years I’ve been out of fishing and out of touch with the fishing world.I did have a hummingbird on my last boat I had but I was not very good at it.

The Lowrance HDS Carbon units were the series that was previously introduced immediately prior to the Lowrance Live units.  If I'm not mistaken, they are the only previous version that is also still compatible with the live transducers.

So if I understand correctly the fishfinder I get for the console should have HDS Carbon that way when I purchase a unit for the bow they will interact with each unit?  (I started watching “fishfinders for dummies) This is all knew to me.
