1984isNOW Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 I've seen some sites that come off a bit sketchy, but such a NICHE market I've only found a few sites to begin with anyway. Mudhole and get bit being the big ones I see voodoo rods also getting some love. What are others you use/trust? American rod builders warehouse has a nice sale right now but awfully limited selection - seaguide components any good? Some Seaguide items I've looked at seem like an amazon product with pictures in awkward or reverse orientation like an upside down casting reel seat with very poor English descriptions. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 30, 2022 Super User Posted November 30, 2022 Talk with Mike and he can build your dream rod at a reasonable price. http://www.delawarevalleytackle.com/ Quote
Super User MickD Posted November 30, 2022 Super User Posted November 30, 2022 HFF Custom Rods, up and coming company in MI, very helpful folks. 2 Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted November 30, 2022 Super User Posted November 30, 2022 looks like you're looking for places to buy components and not built rods. Mudhole is big and easy. Always a good retail choice. Jann's will have things at times. Schneiders rod shop was a good one. One good way to find retailers is to use the various manufacturer's 'find a retailer' links. Batson blanks for instance has a page for their retailers. Quote
spoonplugger1 Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Angler's Workshop has been around forever, bought and moved from Woodland, WA, used to be right alongside the Lamiglas factory and just across the freeway from G Loomis. Moved to Springfield IL, but I still get the same great service. Just ordered there today, they had some stuff the others were out of, good prices and their Fuji reel seats I needed were cheaper than Mudhole and many others. 2 Quote
Alex from GA Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Getbitoutdoors.com. I've bought from them a few times. Good service and decent prices. Quote
spoonplugger1 Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Utmost Ent. is a stone's throw from Batson/Rainshadow/Alps, great people, great prices, excellent service, shipping at their cost, and timely out the door. Quote
Seaworthy81 Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 I used to buy some niche stuff from acidrod.com but now I try to be as exclusive to voodoo as I can, with backup being getbit and mud hole last. I don’t like how mudhole pushes their own stuff so hard and makes it difficult imho to buy the non-mudhole stuff. Quote
Super User MickD Posted December 5, 2022 Super User Posted December 5, 2022 Been hearing good stuff about Voodoo. 1 Quote
Lyman X Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 Voo Doo's good, Mudhole, also https://www.therodroom.com/shop/pc/home.asp, also https://www.lurepartsonline.com/about-us Quote
Logan S Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 I've purchased a lot of components from VooDoo - Once you hit $100 with them, they'll give you a 15% off code to use for all future purchases, which is pretty nice. Mudhole is nice and easy - A little tip...They also sell on Amazon and if you wanted a single blank you can order from them on Amazon for cheap or free (on some) shipping without needing to hit their minimum for discounted shipping. For an upcoming build I got all my components from Voodoo with the discount, then snagged the single blank from MH on Amazon. 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted December 25, 2022 Super User Posted December 25, 2022 ALX made my made rods prior to offering OTC rods and Alex still has his custom rod service, excellent rod builder?. Tom Quote
KCFinesse Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 Voodoo is awesome. The customer service is second to none. They carry a somewhat limited stock but most of what they have is good stuff. Custom rod components (CRC) has a lot of really unique blanks at good prices. Hydra (alx) produces good blanks and carries interesting components as well. There are lots of options and a lot of fun places to look around. -Jared 2 Quote
Mbirdsley Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 The sister company to anglers work shop is lureparts online. This is my personal favorite place to buy from. Not as big as a selection as mud hole but, they have a lot of stuff. I have a whole sale account through them for my jig side gig so that helps. They ship a lot faster than mud hole. Mud hole probably has the easiest site to navigate and they have a lot of stuff. HFF has a lot of things but, I hate navigating the sight looking to look and components. I need to go down and check them out as they are instate for myself. Quote
wisconsin heat Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Go flyshop if looking for fly fishing stuff, my latest purchase was from there. Great great priced fly blanks and components. Quote
