Huckfinn38 Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Looking for a medium size swim jig in 3/8 oz. Somewhere between Missles Ikes Mini Swim jig and Dirty Jigs No Jack swim jig Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted November 29, 2022 Super User Posted November 29, 2022 You talking about overall profile? Hook size? You can make any swim jig smaller just by trimming the skirt. Quote
Huckfinn38 Posted November 29, 2022 Author Posted November 29, 2022 Hook mainly. Seems a lot come with 5/0. Maybe a 4/0 or even a 3/0 Quote
PressuredFishing Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 I have a good 1/4 oz reccomendation on a 1/0, but nothing bigger. Quote
Super User WRB Posted November 29, 2022 Super User Posted November 29, 2022 Siebert Outdoors ( site sponsor) makes what you are looking for. Tom 1 Quote

Super User DitchPanda Posted November 29, 2022 Super User Posted November 29, 2022 As mentioned above everything @Siebert Outdoors makes is quality so you can buy with confidence. What I use is BOSS swim jig heads- a medium wire 4\0 mustad hook. A 4pk of heads is $7 and I just make my own skirts...I get 4 good quality jigs, the exact color and size of skirt I want also hand tied with braid for under $10. Usually takes me about 10-15 minutes for 4 depending in how picky I am. That setup has caught me hundreds of bass in the past 4-5 years. 1 Quote
Super User FishTank Posted November 29, 2022 Super User Posted November 29, 2022 The OSP Zeroone has been a great compact jig for me. Any color has caught fish but they can get pricey if you don't order from Japan. One of my favorites below..... 1 Quote

Somewhere between Missles Ikes Mini Swim jig and Dirty Jigs No Jack swim jig the siebert shot caller and swim jig are in the range. the shot caller will be about the same size as the no-jack, but its on a 4/0 hook instead of the no-jack 5/0. They are a pretty standard sized jig as you get them, but you can trim down the skirt if you want a short jig. They have a weedguard comparable to a regular jig. The mini swim jig is a smaller/thinner/lighter version in all aspects but still on a 4/0 hook. I have a bunch of the shot caller and use them as one of my two standard swim jigs. The other is the Strike king tour grade. I ordered a bunch before I started with the Siebert jigs. They are a good light wire option (though they only go to 3/8 oz if that matters to you). Quote

Somewhere between Missles Ikes Mini Swim jig and Dirty Jigs No Jack swim jig I missed the part where you mentioned the No Jack. Great jig. Might be my favorite swim jig next to the one from Sieberts. I had good luck with the black and blue and dirty shad. Quote

PressuredFishing Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 1 hour ago, Revival said: I’m not the OP but I would like to hear your recommendation Cheap Chinese Amazon jigs called Croch, hooks are surprisingly good, hand tied, comes with extra skirts, I paid 18 for them, you can get them on sale for 11$, 10 jigs 10 skirts hooks are actually half decent and are slightly thicker than a normal ewg worm hook but much lighter than average jigs which makes it a bonus imo. Only reccomendation is from what I've read weed gaurd tends to fall out, has never happened to me even fishing them extensively but maybe superglue them. P.S head is more of a grass style than a arkie, perhaps you could call it a hybrid Here's an image for you, biggest fish of the year came on it for me, wish I could show the whole image but BR image uploading is size fussy 1 Quote

Super User Munkin Posted November 30, 2022 Super User Posted November 30, 2022 There are two basic styles of swim jigs, Wisconsin light hooks and Southern which have 30 flipping size hooks. I looked up the Nojack and it uses a Gamakatsu hook but doesn't state the size. So these are identical 3/8oz jigs. Top has a 4/0 VMC hook. 057 diameter. Bottom is a 5/0 Mustad. 048. You can see the size and diameter difference. Allen Quote
TNBankFishing Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 I love the Keitech swim jig for anything medium cover or higher because it’s totally weedless. Open water I throw a paddle tail with an exposed hook, in cover I use the keitech with a hog farmer spunk shad and it just slithers through cover. Can even pitch it into the nasty stuff and ping pong it out. Quote
