Super User ChrisD46 Posted November 28, 2022 Super User Posted November 28, 2022 Starting to experiment more with the drop shot : For the standard Robo Worms straight tail worms (4.5" & 6") , do you prefer to rig using the nose hook method or wacky rig ? My application will be more of horizontal casting the drop shot set up in waters 3' to 10' with say a 14" dropper then working the rig back to me (if that information helps). Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted November 28, 2022 Super User Posted November 28, 2022 Yes ? They both work well. Don’t limit yourself. The one thing I’ll add though is my hookup/landing percentage rigged wacky went up when I switched from a traditional drop shot hook to something with a bigger gap like the Rebarb style hooks. YMMV Quote
Super User Darth-Baiter Posted November 28, 2022 Super User Posted November 28, 2022 i cast a drop shot everywhere, so i texas hook them to help me stay clear of snags. my friend tends to out fish me somedays with the wacky drop shot. i think the idea is to keep an open mind and try them all out. Super User WRB Posted November 28, 2022 Super User Posted November 28, 2022 Drop shot with Roboworms size 1 Owner Mosqiuto hook nose about 1/4” back or wacky hooked flat side up. Weedless hooked Drop Shot or Slip Shot; Owner #5133 Down Shot hook size 1/0 for 4 - 5” and size 2/0 for 6” # 6” fat. Tom PS, casting and dragging back the Slip Shot rig out performs drop shot imo. 5 Quote
