Maybe not a boatload - but between Digitaka, one used reel, one used rod and BF sales...I've probably saved close to $200 from retail on just rods and reels alone.

I'm not jumping in that big on Black Friday this year. A couple of bass things that I'm interested in I have to see and touch first. I did put a list out there to my family of some new baits, spares, terminal tackle and line that they can order up as a present if they wish to. A lot of stuff I want and need is not in stock and no backorder. I'm pretty sure I'll have at least a few new things to chase some river smallies with.

I want to pick up a new 3 wt. fly rod for trout fishing. Can't do that sight unseen. And I'm pretty sure when I go to pull the trigger on it I'll pull off some saving or deal.

Have fun shopping and have a great holiday.

I very rarely shop online and there's no chance I'm fighting a horde of people in store today.  Saving 20% on something isn't worth the time required to get it today for this guy.

Ark rods have been on sale for 26% off at one of my favorite online retailers for awhile. A 7'4" Mag Heavy F Invoker showed up on my porch today. Can't wait to take it for a spin next week. Tons of power, but it's got some tip to it. Should do a great job of driving flippin hooks home. Will make an awesome frog rod as well.

I placed orders at three companies, but didn't buy many new and sexy lures. Mostly the basics like hooks, sinkers, swivels, Senkos, etc. I did buy a few purty crankbaits and I'm think I'm all set for next year.

For the first time in my life, I'll be dropshotting, Roboworming, and squarebilling and I'm excited to try all that, but even more excited to get back to froggin' and to fish, for the first time in my life, for pre-spawn bass.

I bought a magic thermometer that you aim at the water and a wetsuit top. Ya hear that, Tim? A wetsuit top! I'm going to buy wetsuit boots too because I generally have to step into the water to launch my canoe and that water will be chilly in early May. The wetsuit top will keep my core warm as I swim to shore if I ever tip. I also bought a new headlamp, as my old headlamp died in the dark on my final fishing trip.

I bought ONE thing this year since my combo collection is full: a 13 fishing Omen Panfish and trout rod in 5'6" L/F.

36T graphite.  Plan to use it for very small ned rig type stuff.

I did get a new reel, another BPS Carbonlite…….I really like theses reels for the money. It was a limited edition lefty on sale… couldn’t resist. Not that I care about limited edition but the lefty and on sale, got me.

I also bought a laminator. Twice in 2022, I printed a map of the pond I was fishing and within the first hour, the map was worthless because canoes get wet. So, in 2023, I will have maps of the ponds and bogs that are laminated.*

*This is considered ultra high tech fishing in Maine.

I had a map in a gallon zip bag for a long time, that a guy at a road side food stand drew for me on the back of a flier for a poker run. It finally gave up the ghost and mildewed.

My wife gonna be proud off me this year. Only Black Friday related to fishing, I took advantage off was free shipping from Shimano for a Curado 71 gear set. I feel richer already ???

After learning that I missed out on those half priced Lews Custom Pros at Omnia, any enthusiasm I had is gone. Should have checked my email.

I usually get gift cards. That way I can buy what I want when I want.

Heck, didn't even realize it was black Friday until it passed.

BUT driving to the city next week to Bass Pro which has a negative influence on the wallet.

I worked 9 hours today.

So did I. It’s the first Black Friday I have worked in 14 years. Normally I take it off but I was asked to work it this time on the “skeleton” crew.
