When do you put this crap up?  My wife is borderline obsessed with it and seems to move it up earlier and earlier.  I came back from a week of deer hunting on Nov 12 and there were 2 trees, a wreath, and a bunch of other Christmas trinkets already out.

I personally do not like it when people start celebrating Christmas before Thanksgiving.  Heck, I even saw holiday stuff out already in October before Halloween.  We're skipping over holidays here.  Not a big fan.  Truth be told, I've never been much of a Christmas guy anyways, but this early decor is making it worse.

Sincerely,

Scrooge

I hate it all but mom usually wants us to put her tree up the day after thanksgiving and my wife and some friends want to cross into NC and buy a live tree this year. They said it’s near a brewery and I could eat burgers and drink beer so there’s that. Humbug…… hahaha

I used to do it when the kids were little, but don’t do anything outside anymore since they left.

We do some external stuff.

I try to get it up 'early',

meaning before there's a blizzard.

Usually right about now and It comes down right after new year.

Took the tree, inside stuff, and 64.9 miles of outside lights down from above the shop at the Inlaws today. My participation is usually limited to getting it down from upstairs, on the trailer and the reverse. I'll be more involved this year due to him being ill and want to help provide some sense of normalcy. But I am fishing tomorrow. ?

Our tradition is to put up the tree during the first weekend in December.  I put up lights one year when the kids were small and the general attitude was "yeah so".  That was the last year I put up lights.

Thanksgiving is what really kicks off the holiday season in my eyes, so christmas lights usually start going up right after thanksgiving. Which means my girlfriend already has my day planned out for me today.

Absolutely love the holidays, all of them!

We usually put Christmas decorations up today the day after Thanksgiving & take them down the day after New Year's.

I raised 6 kids, when they got old enough they took over decorating. I'm raising 2 grandkids & they have taken over.

I don’t like any holidays really. Fiancé tried getting the corner we put the tree up in the other day cleared out and started out side decorations but didn’t happen with the tree. I made my comments about not even thanksgiving yet no tree or decorations. Our daughter wanted to do it so I caved a little and went outside and helped stake a snowman thing to the ground and said I would do lights the next day since it was like 9pm when doing all this. Mother Nature been on my side with rain and wind so I haven’t been able to get on the roof to do the lights I’m in no rush till the 7 year old boss brings it up again haha.

For me Christmas is by far my least favorite holiday. Thanksgiving is my favorite only because of the food though that’s it.

I love the Holidays! Ours start with flags for Labor Day and extends through Veteran's Day.

Then Halloween is BIG for us. Thanksgiving begins November 1st and today the Christmas

decorations start to appear...

I just go with the flow so I don’t have to comment on the “marital problems” thread. ?

Joking aside, my wife really only decorates for Christmas. She started right after Halloween, but wasn’t feeling it because it was still warm out. Once we got the cold snap and snow she was right there getting things out. Thankfully her mom ruined her with Christmas lights on the house. When my FIL was working in China we’d have to put her the Christmas lights and there were a ton! After it’s all said and done Christmas lights on house can and usually do look good but it’s a lot of work and usually not the best weather up here, which played in my favor. She has her décor inside and gets a couple wreaths for outside. She’s too OCD for a real tree which we tried one time.

I like the holidays. When my kids were all home, we put up a tree and decorations the day after Thanksgiving.                 We haven't done all that for a while. I like lights and traditional outside decorations. One thing I don't care for are the big inflatable Santa's and other things people put in the front yard. I see too many that have deflated, and lay in the snow all winter. They get picked up when it's time to cut the grass in spring

I'm a Christmas junkie, we'll start decorating today. We mainly decorate inside, with a few outside decorations. I'm not a fan of lighting the yard like a small city so we keep it pretty simple.

I've been listening to Christmas music since Halloween.

The wife doesn't ask for much and Christmas is her thing.  We will put up the yard decorations tomorrow and indoor stuff sunday most likely.  She is superstitious so nothing goes up before thanksgiving and it all comes down new years day.  Our front yard will have pretty much every square inch covered and there are always things she is like oh yeah I forgot I bought that in the sales after Christmas last year :).

I don't mind and it is something she enjoys and we cna do as a family.

We set up moms tree after fishing today. Hopefully it doesn’t fall over

Didn’t put up the tree until a few days before Xmas or even Christmas Eve, and it came down New Year’s Day.
I mean the house was decorated, wreaths, lights inside and out. Just no Xmas tree until then.

My aunt was the day after Thanksgiving, everything went up, stayed there until mid January.

Our Christmas decorating has diminished significantly in recent years.  There was a time when we would buy a huge tree and spend days decorating the thing.  The front of our home is mostly glass and the tree faced the street.  I swear you could see it a block away. My wife even had mechanical dear grazing on the front lawn.  All this started around Thanksgiving and continued to well after New Years.  Our kids are grown and we stopping buying each other Christmas gifts years ago.   If either one of us wants something, we don't need a holiday to buy it.  These days, our holiday decorations are minimal.

Some may find this interesting.  My father was born during the depression when things were very tough financially.  He told me they didn't put up any Christmas decorations until Christmas Eve after the kids went to bed.   He said it made Christmas morning much more exciting.  I imagine it did.  ☺️

Wow! My wife wants us to cut our own tree for the first time ever this year. Christmas lights are usually up weekend after thanksgiving.

I also love how I have translate or read between the lines she says.

For example, she said, “Let’s cut our own Christmas tree this year.”

Translation: Your going to cut down a tree for us. I’ll probably be sipping on hot cider or cocoa while you are cutting the tree. ?

I hate Pinterest and that home/house channel. They give her too many ding dang ideas and guess who has to execute?

We have a couple deer out front, candles in the windows, another deer and a pretend tree out back. As far as I can see where is nothing in the house this year, we watch a toddler and can't put anything out in his reach.

We usually decorate some as we have the extended family Xmas party here. A lot of little kids.

Haven't decided on a tree yet.

This year has been a stretched out decorating. My in-laws came to visit the first weekend of November while I was away so I brought the trees and ornaments up from the basement so they could decorate them together. The trees went up (we have three this year and one not being put up) but nothing on them. Then we were traveling a lot in November. My wife loves Christmas decorations but was too busy so I would pick a small thing and do it after work but before she got home. Last night we did the main tree together and are almost done with everything (two sets of lights outside left).
