Super User Jar11591 Posted November 24, 2022 Super User Posted November 24, 2022 First off, Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow BRers. So what’s on your menu tonight? I’m going to a big family potluck, so aside from the usual turkey and trimmings, I’m not sure what to expect. I’ll be bringing my homemade Mac and cheese (pics to come soon). What are y’all eating today? And feel free to share what you’re sipping on as well. I’ll be having some Sloop Super Soft IPAs. EDIT: Added Mac and cheese photo 3 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted November 24, 2022 Super User Posted November 24, 2022 I wanted guajalote mole poblano but got out voted. So we are having traditional stuff. 1 Quote

I make it all from scratch and it’s all gluten free for my wife. 1 Quote
volzfan59 Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 I'm not 100% what everyone is bringing. I know that my wife's excellent dressing will be there , with cranberry sauce. I have seen a chocolate pie, a coconut pie, two egg custard (my favorite) and some no bake cookies. I've heard that a turkey and a ham will be in attendance, but I haven't laid eye's on them myself. I hope all of y'all have an extremely happy Thanksgiving! 1 Quote

volzfan59 Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 Doggone @Catt, I would love to try that "Saltgrass pecan pie bread pudding"! I love bread pudding. Are you taking about the Saltgrass restaurant chain? There's one in Little Rock, right behind Bass Pro Shops. If so, I'm trying it next time at BPS! 1 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted November 24, 2022 Global Moderator Posted November 24, 2022 We had turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, corn casserole (I love that stuff), candy yams, mashed potatoes, and apple pie. 1 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted November 25, 2022 Super User Posted November 25, 2022 Well my girlfriend took off around 3 to go black Friday shopping with my mom, sister and niece ...kind of a girls weekend tradition for them the past 4 or 5 years. Thought about having leftovers but I felt a little fancier than that. Supper was blackened mahi mahi with butter, lemon white wine dill sauce and a butter toasted rice pilaf with a glass of champagne. 1 Quote

Super User NYWayfarer Posted November 25, 2022 Super User Posted November 25, 2022 I need only 2 things to be happy with my Turkey at Thanksgiving, Green Bean Casserole and Ocean Spray jellied cranberry sauce. Washed it down with a Sam Adams Winter lager. 2 Quote
Super User gim Posted November 25, 2022 Super User Posted November 25, 2022 I made a "young turkey" in my rotisserie. I stuffed it with garlic gloves, oranges, and lemons for flavor. Turned out pretty well to be honest. My wife added stuffing, mashed potatoes/gravy, and green been casserole. Pumpkin pie was later. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I like the food and I like watching football. 2 Quote

Catt, mind sharing what goes into Tommy T's dirty rice? I've never had dirty rice and would like to try making a batch. There's a lot of variation in the online recipes. 1 Quote
