My daughter says when your parents pass away YOU become the "Old People". Well,

we have our kids, grandkids. aunt and an uncle here for Thanksgiving and I think it's great

that I'm able to put on a fest for the gang. I hope you all have an enjoyable gathering with

family and friends.

Cheers to the Old People!

She’s right!

When I officially became an “old person”

having the entire family in the same room at the same time suddenly became the most important thing!

Salute to us all

One tradition in our family is to pass them down to the younger generations.

Starting this year grandsons are stepping up to take over frying Turkeys correctly.

Granddaughters are learning recipes from mawmaws & Aunts.

Blessed beyond measure!

As I write this, 3 of my 4 elementary school aged grand kids are in the kitchen with their grandma learning how to make their favorite holiday salad...  Happy Thanksgiving!

The last of  the “old guard “ in my family passed this year.( My aunt Eva in NC)

Now me and my brother and first cousins are the old guard. Wish we could all be together today but we’re all spread out…

Im spending thanksgiving at my sons. He’s a very good cook at most anything, from fish, game , and whatever. And the one person in the world that makes me laugh the most !

Happy thanksgiving everyone!

Here’s a little bit of advice coming from an “old” person.  Find a way to document your family history for your descendants.  I was lucky enough to know my great grandparents and have a lot of history from both my parents sides of the family but…..there’s a lot of gaps I can’t fill in and I wish I had asked my mother and grandmother while they were still alive.

My 97 year old MIL passed earlier this year, the last of that generation making us the old people now on both sides.

Thanksgiving dinner was a special time when we had both sets of parents, siblings and our son and daughter my sister in-laws and kids.

We thought it wouldn’t end until it did, they are all gone now.

Get your family together while you can and tell all the stories even if you heard before....be Thankful!

We are visiting friends and enjoying each other’s company an teaching them how to cook turkey and all the fixings that wasn’t their tradition passing it along.

Still have 4 generations, probably for not much longer. I will be the "old people" soon enough.

You all couldn't be more right! Kids and grandkids just left. We have lost all parents, aunts and uncles over the last few years and we are now the "Old People". Have to appreciate these times while you have them.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!

Can't remember who sang the song " time marches on " but it certainly has.

We were once close to 20 people at the Thanksgiving table.

Today it was 9 but still very thankful.

Oh is 62 an old person ?  Lol

Well, I'm 63 and don't consider myself old...so I'd say no.

I'm one generation away from being the old people. Coming sooner than any of us like to admit. I welcome it. Means God gave me a long, good life. No fear of aging here. It means you were blessed.

Yeah that sucks. I had today off but I gotta work 3-12s this weekend. I was doing Monday - Friday for about 9 months but I got asked to come back on shift in October since we are shorthanded and like a dummy I said yes. Had I been on that rotation still I'd have a 4 day weekend..but such is life. Good thing is tomorrow is a paid holiday for us so ill get 12hrs double pay and get to bank 8 hrs of pto. Come Christmas my crew works the entire weekend but ill get 24hrs double pay and 16 hrs pto for  Xmas Eve and Christmas day. That softens the blow considerably.
