I’m Californian.  I’m in Texas and I figured I’d find a particular small batch tequila made in the “old ways”.  No additives etc.

dang it if the word isn’t out.  I can’t find it. I’ll hit up a few New Mexico locations on the drive home but most store workers just laugh at me if I ask if there is any in stock.  I’m not looking for Pappy’s !!!  It’s a tequila!

oh well.

(I did buy a VERY GOOD fishing rod tho)

Mezcal (and therefore Tequila as a subset) is the #1 fastest growing spirit/liquor in the US. One reason why it's hard to find some of the really good brands.

care to share which?

my usual online source is siptequila. We gravitate to extra anejo and they have a good selection.

i am not a tequila fan but there were two times I had it where I really liked it.  One was on isla mujeres with my uncle who lived in Cancun at the time and he pulled out some sipping tequila as he called it and the other was when I was living in El Paso climbing for 6 months or so and our neighbor was from ciudad juarez and he brought back some what I am guessing is the equivalent of mexican moonshine in a mason jar and that was delicious too.  Other than that, not a an but I hope you find what you are looking for....

yup.  Moved there with my ex who was in school at UTEP and I saved up so I could climb for as long as possible and she bailed after a year or so.

That six months of climbing and the mexican food was worth it.  Climbing there is absolutely world class and the best I have done in the country

That describes it exactly.

I have family in Austin TX. That's where I had it. I'm guessing it was Mezcal but not sure.
