Hi all

I’m going to ask Santa Claus to bring me a new ned rod for Christmas. I’m not brand loyal at all. I generally throw 1/8 oz heads and lighter. I’m using a st croix avid ml fast action now, it’s good but looking for something as a dedicated ned rod.

Many thanks

I might have the same ML St. Croix Avid. It's a great rod for Neds. My personal favorite though is the G. Loomis NRX+ 921S NRR.  It's a little softer at the tip, the sensitivity is what you would expect from an NRX, and it can be used for more than just Neds.

i love my tatula paired on  damakia dark angel but sadly they dont make them for bass anymore!

so newest rod for me is Dobyns Fury 703SF  paired with a the quantum smoke size 15 in 5.7:1

smoke reel is the bomb!

The Avid MLs are pretty good for neds you mentioned and DS as well.  Personally I like the 7'1 ML Tatula for just about everything finesse.  The Tatula has better balance and is a little lighter then the ML Avids I have which are anywhere from a few to over 15 yrs old.  I like the ergonomics of the Tatula over the SCs as well.  Other then that they are pretty similar in power and action with the Tatula loading a little deeper into the blank.

Great rod. Also, the 7' ML Daiwa Rebellion is a fantastic option.

I use a St. Croix Legend Tournament 6' 10" ML/XF. It's been my Ned rod for several years now.

I use the ALX Zolo Trickster which is a 7’ L+/Fast. It handles  1/16 to 1/2.

I also used the ALX Zolo McSmalls which is a 7’6” L+ and also handles 1/16 to 1/2.  I sold it to my friend who throws nothing but Ned’s on it and loves it.  It was also awesome for small keitechs.

I got the Victory Crosshair 7'10" MLXF use it for neds. Really flings those neds out there and weighs in at just 3.7oz.

This or keep using the Avid. I love the Crosshair, but my 7' ML Avid is a standout for ned for me.
