I know I’m a little late to the game but I recently stumbled upon a pod cast with Sammy The Bull, then I listened to a podcast with Michael Franzeses.

I’ve always found the stories of the MOB fascinating. Whether is be truth or complete BS, I’ve always found the mob interesting.

What say you?

I know there are a few on here from Chicago and Boston area, any stories from the old days?

I think they are still operating in my city haha

Really? I’d never guess there’d be some sort of mob or mafia in Tennessee. Maybe a bunch of moonshiners and bootleggers.

Plenty of crime, I’m guessing some is organized. We’ve got plenty of Italians! Haha

I've mentioned some stories before. We're living with the Cosa Nostra right now in charge of the federal government. I grew up with this garbage in Chicago.

The Italian side of my family was/is police and politicians.

My next door neighbor growing up was connected. I was a kid, didn't know any better. Everyone that came by was driving Lincolns and Caddy's. Paul, yep, my name too, was eventually locked up for defrauding the federal government out of millions in school loans. He and his cousin were taking federal school loans and selling diplomas. Student would file for financial aid from the government thru his beauty school and as soon as the school received payment, the student would receive a diploma.

Paul's brother Salvatore is a customer at my store. Paul passed away last year. Salvatore owns some rental properties. Maybe connected maybe not, Salvatore came in a month or so ago looking for some zone valves for some properties he owns. We talked. Paul's daughter is a pharmacist and has been for awhile. Paul's son is currently a property manager for the family's investments.

My father and mother met Salvatore for the first time in Italy when they traveled there and ended up meeting Paul. I met Salvatore for the first time last year at my store.

A house blew up 6 blocks from me as a kid. It was a mob hit.

I just never thought anything of it. I was a kid and this is how things were done.

I used to work across the street from Horwath's restaurant at Elmwood Ford, which was shut down by by the feds. Horwath's was the stomping grounds for Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana. He was long dead at the time but one of his hitmen was assonated in the parking lot while I was working across the street.

I grew up in Howard Beach and Ozone Park in the 70s, so I kinda lived it without even knowing it at the time. I'm just sorry Little Italy is all but gone, they had a bunch of good Italian restaurants.

I grew up in a suburb of Houston back in the mid to late 90s. There was some very serious gang activity going on back then. When I was in junior high there was a big gang war going on...several drive by one person hits culminating in a big shoot out at an apartment complex less than ten minutes from my house that resulted in 7 or 8 deaths.
