I Am A Dog Lover

My grandfather once told me when I was young," Junior, you can tell a lot about a man's character if he mistreats his dog. He was correct. He raised many dogs in his lifetime. He had certain things he did to teach them things, and, get them to behave. But, it was kindness to his dogs that made them so good.                                             He also told me that if someone can't properly care for a dog, they should never own one.                                            I've had a few dogs in my lifetime. They've given my family a lot of good memories over the years.                I can't stand folks who mistreat dogs in any way.             So, to sum it up here, I am a dog lover, any, and all breeds. Treat them with kindness, and you'll have the best friend you could ever hope for.                                          Are you a dog lover also?

There are several levels of it for me,

but in a word ~ Yes.

Takes weeks, months and even years to earn their trust & respect

and 1 second to lose it.

In many ways, dogs are better than people.  I've met a lot of people and a lot of dogs, and I can positively say that the number of dogs I didn't care for were very few whereas the number of people I didn't care for were more numerous.

Cosmo is 10 this past February.  She loves going with me anywhere I'll take her.  That includes fishing, pheasant hunting, and even to the vet.

I have a feeling I'm going to run out of "likes" for this thread.

I’m a dog lover

my mother doesn’t like dogs at all, but shes a sweetheart. She let us have them growing up but only one at a time and quite reluctantly. And they were absolutely NEVER allowed inside

now they sleep at the foot of my bed every night and sometimes even in it

There are a lot of dogs in my life. I grew up with dogs, and my girlfriend and I have a pack of 3. This is my 13 year old girl, who has been with me for over 12 years. Still runs around the yard like a puppy. 91BF006C-1CBC-4AA2-8D7C-5E0A01253E6D.thumb.jpeg.fa770d4aa27cede8b9598fccbc6e2a68.jpeg

When I was growing up my family had 4 dogs over the years.  They were family, and dad always said you can tell a person's character by the way a dog responds to them.

I love dogs too! All breeds, mutts, both sexes. Like others, I hate people that mistreat their dogs. I currently don't have a dog of my own but I dog-sit my grand dogs all the time, they're with me right now.

For what it's worth, I do have a ferrel cat. His mamma appeared last year, pregnant. Didn't have the heart to turn her away. She had her babies in a box I made for her, nursed them and disappeared after five or six weeks. We handled the kittens and got them used to humans. Gave them all away except for Thomas. He's now in charge of external security.

We’re dog lovers here, well except the last two nights when Hank wakes be up in the middle of the night because he wants to go outside just to eat snow! We’ve had five at one time (that was a bit much) now we’re down to two. My wife owns a dog grooming business, so you could say we enjoy K9’s.

Here’s the nocturnal snow eater.

That's my Lil Ethel Mae. She was sulking because I wouldn't let her lay on my lap after getting muddy in the creek. She won!! Brian.

My brother was allergic to dogs, so we had cats.  I still have cats.  They follow me around like dogs and come when I whistle.

The coolest thing is I can take off for two or three days and all I have to do is leave them a clean litter box, food, and water, and they could care less.

Luckily, we dog-sit my nephew's black lab - Irish Setter mix ... he's the coolest meat-ball of a dog you could ask for.

I too am a dog lover and have had several dogs through the years. I don't have one now. I guess I might be considered mean but I never had a dog that lived in the house. They always stayed outside. In times of extreme cold I would make a place for them to stay warm in the garage. At least right now I don't have to worry about ending up in the doghouse since we don't have one.

She's Lil because her Mom is original Ethel Mae. Lil Ethel Mae was 7 weeks old when I took that picture. I just happened to get up to go to the bathroom so I checked up on the Pups and she was snuggling with her Mom. Brian.

We didn’t have a dog for about two weeks each time one passes. It’s just a giant hole without one there. We have a couple cats too but they’re not the same. This is the latest - she’s got a lot of will…482F105F-355C-405F-AAD1-683A1F67C0CD.jpeg.06a475d3a2c1a5cda597cbe78c628fe9.jpeg
