Deebo Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Anyone have much experience with the don iovino worms on a drop shot? I'm looking for Texas rigging on a rebarb hook. Wasn't sure which tail or length to go with. They are a little steep with having to buy a 25pk to get a ton of options Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted November 17, 2022 Super User Posted November 17, 2022 Spade tails, teanie meanies, little sluggers, fat boy worms and even reapers should all work for you. Seems like everyone throws roboworm around here, so I like working these into the mix just to show them something different (and they work!). Lightning shad and honeycomb are two of my favorite colors. Quote
Super User WRB Posted November 17, 2022 Super User Posted November 17, 2022 Texas rig use a tempered glass faceted bead and 3/16 oz to 1/4 oz bullet weight with 6” Spade tail (brass n glass). I like to split the tail with a safety razor about the length of the razor, just push straight down. You are in PA so don’t know if greens or shad colors are good there. Lightning shad or Smallmouth Killer? I will PM Don’s cell number and ask him what colors are working in your area. Tom PS, Drop Shot I use Owner # 5133 weedless hooked and 4” space tails with split tails, flat side up. 1 Quote
Deebo Posted November 18, 2022 Author Posted November 18, 2022 Thanks for the info Tom! I got a pack of the 4" spade tails in s20 today and they seem to be about perfect for the 1/0 rebarb ( and they are crazy soft, I'm a fan). I think I'm going to grab some small mouth crush, honeycomb, chocolate blue, and lightning shad. The reapers look pretty cool as well...then there's some 6". I think it's gonna take the 2/0 to cover the 6" as there's not a lot of hook Gap on the 1/0. At least black Friday is coming up lol. Quote
Super User WRB Posted November 18, 2022 Super User Posted November 18, 2022 Did you talk to Don? Tom Quote
Deebo Posted November 18, 2022 Author Posted November 18, 2022 I left a voicemail today with him. Does he do any custom runs ever? Quote
Deebo Posted November 19, 2022 Author Posted November 19, 2022 Was able to speak with Don, he told me that he's done with the plastics business. So I picked up 15 of the 25 packs on tackle warehouse. He said he's just gonna be selling splash its now. Quote
